This is a very nice B&B, runed by lovely Jasmine who took care of us perfectly when we stayed for three nights! It's a calm place and still good connections with the tube near by! Try this, you wont be dissapointed!

We booked this B and B outside of London proper because we wanted a quiet place to come back to each night and it delivered 100%. Our blue room was on the front of the house with a large ensuite bathroom with large shower, quite unheard of in Europe. The room was very comfortable and nice to come back to after a long day of sightseeing in London. This B and B was a short ten minute walk to the underground which took us into central London in under 30 mins. Jasmine, the hostess was an extremely nice person who gave us all kinds of tips on what to do and where to go in London as well as giving us tips on surrounding restaurants that were very good, the Curry Garden in particular. Breakfasts cooked by Jasmine herself were quite filling and delicious and one morning we even got to sample her birthday cake which her grandson brought to her on her 60th birthday. We got to celebrate with her as well. She made us feel like we were part of the family for sure. We would definitely book Bay Tree House if we ever found ourselves in London again. This B and B is definitely a gem to consider!!

Room Tip: The blue room was our personal favorite!

The Bay Tree House is a pleasant B&B in a quiet row house neighborhood northeast London. One of the best attributes is that it is a good value with good connection via tube (subway) to central London and also direct to Heathrow. The tube station is approximately a 5 minute walk. Then 25 minutes to Piccadilly Circus or theatre district and 1 hour 15 minutes to Heathrow. All this saves time, money and makes dealing with London’s traffic much more manageable. The rooms are light (during the day), very clean and have a pleasant, fresh, modest decor. The in-room lighting leaves something to be desired. At night, the interior lighting left much to be desired. For example, there is only one overhead light in the bathroom. (Good luck on putting on makeup). The bathroom was spacious and shower was good but the hot water ran out fairly quickly. I’d have to say, the breakfasts are fairly meager, compared to other highly rated b&b. WIFI is good but there is no in-house computer for visitor use (i.e for boarding passes) as is stated on the website.
Please note that the day-to-day operation of Bay Tree House has changed in the last several months. Jim and Jeanne have relocated and turned the management over to Jasmine who is very cordial, enthusiastic and personable. B&B’s are a very personal experience, so despite all Jasmine’s experience and good nature, this may be a bit of a different experience than what others have described in the past.

We decided to try a B&B this time based on the many positive reviews of Bay Tree House and we were happy with our choice. We arrived very early in the afternoon but it was no problem to check in and we were served with snacks and coffee/tea upon check in. The location was very convenient - it's nice to stay away from the center of London as it was VERY quiet at night yet still a reasonable ride down on the Tube. Although the elevated section of the Picadilly line runs directly behind the house, the faint clickety clack was about the only sound we heard after dark. The only thing that I note and a few others have as well is that the ownership has changed recently, which isn't reflected on the website. However I do not think that the level of hospitality has changed as Jasmine and her staff provided us a very pleasant stay.

After searching online for several days and reading hundreds of reviews, we decided to stay at the Bay Tree House during our three day stay in London. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. We arrived a little early in the afternoon, but no problem--we were able to check in and were given the daffodil room. It is exactly as pictured, with a private bath, flat screen TV and a very comfortable bed for two. Everything was so clean and fresh--they even heated our towels!!

Jasmine is an awesome host(ess), offering tea in the conservatory as soon as we arrived and welcoming us to make ourselves at home. She cooked an English breakfast each morning with fruits, breads, juices, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, meats and eggs made to order. Coffee and tea were available at any time, along with snacks of chips, biscuits and chocolate (yum!).

We would highly recommend this B&B for anyone making a trip to London who is looking for the "hominess" of accommodations without the coldness and expense of a London hotel. The tube is a lovely short walk away and about a 20 minute ride to the city center. For someone without the experience of riding the tube, we found this a very convenient and fast way to get around.

We miss you already, Jasmine. Happy Birthday!! No wonder you have so many great reviews.

My husband and I stayed at The Bay Tree House (BTH) for a few days in April and absolutely loved it. Neither of us had ever stayed in a B&B before and we were a little apprehensive. But Jasmine was wonderful! She met us at the door with a big smile and a warm welcome. We got our keys to the front door and to our bedroom and were assured that we were to simply come and go as we pleased. Then we were promptly invited to tea! Sitting in the lovely sunroom and overlooking the garden I cannot say enough how perfectly at home we felt!
Our bedroom was large, the bed very comfortable, and we had our own bath. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. Hearty English breakfast or yummy french toast could not have been better. Jasmine also leaves out fresh fruit, snacks, and will always make tea.
The house itself is very easy to find. A short walk just around the corner from the Arnos Grove stop on the Piccadilly line. Even if you've never used the tube you can't miss it.
There is a large lovely park less than two blocks from the house with a very nice play area for children and paved running paths. Another block or so are a small Italian restaurant and fish and chips shop. The fish and chips were the best we had the entire time we were in London. Don't overlook it!
I have already recommended BTH to family and friends here at home and would, cheerfully and without reservation, do so to others. Just imagine staying in a beautiful home with a beloved Auntie you don't get to see very often and you'll get the idea!

Without doubt the owner and staff are very friendly but I write this to enlighten those who may find disappointment. In my youth I may have walked to the house in four minutes but with a bit of luggage ten is more accurate. My room was long and thin, hardly wide enough for a bed. The decor sparse with bright yellow walls a la del trotter. The location is more of a suburb of Turkey than England. Dining area and conservatory is tired with badly worn chairs etc. inexpensive and good for tube if not on strike but frankly not my cup of tea.
