“Very nice and unique place to stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We stayed in the (cheapest) windowless room and knew what the qbic concept was before booking so no real surprises there. The room itself was as advertised, very clean, simple but pretty! A small dresser of some sorts would have been nice.

The lunch room, break area is really nice and has free coffee and nice places to sit.

If you want to visit East-London (or London in general) this is a great place to stay. 2min from Algate East Underground.

Room Tip: I recommend getting a room with a window, without it can be a bit claustrophobic to some.

I have been in many hotels over the last two years (visiting over 20 countries) and I can say this one is my favourite. Everywhere you look - even in the hotel - your eye is stimulated and you find yourself smiling. No detail has been spared. And the rooms themselves were the biggest I have stayed in, in London, with massive windows, and for the cheapest price. (We got it for £75 with window using 10 discount). The location was perfect as well, under 5 min walk to Alder Gate East and with a quaint little park across the street with facilities such as Tesco nearby.
I said to my boyfriend that I wish i stayed longer so I could stay in their comfortable beds and just enjoy the hotel. The final icing on the cake was the customer service. All the staff were so helpful and welcoming as soon as we walked in. I want this hotel to do well as its so great but I also want it to be my secret and if it gets more popular it could go for more than twice the price!

Room Tip: Our bathroom was see through so its better for couples or really close friends. BUT, do play a bit m...

Stayed for a week from the 28th July. Great location, very near Aldgate East tube, a park across the road, some interesting characters, no problems and great for people watching. Two Tesco's near by. If you like Indian nearby is the famous Bricklane but what we found even better nearby was Tayyabs at the back of Qbic, the waiting looks daunting but well worth it.

Qbic had very comfortable beds, yes rooms are small however not as small as Paris, a window is a good idea, the shower is great and bathroom very functional. Everything was clean and cleaned daily. A small table and two chairs, TV, but you want have time if you are visiting London. Hotel value for money with great free wi fi

Stayed here for 1 night in August, and was very pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms, the quality of the beds and bathrooms (the monsoon shower was large and welcome in the August heat). The air-conditioning was an amazing relief and allowed a comfortable night's sleep in the huge and comfortable bed.

You would struggle to find a room this size, with air-conditioning, a big comfortable, clean bed, a monsoon shower, a large room - all for around £80, and all of this in Zone 1.

If I was to offer any suggestions for improvement ... the shower was very slippery, the hole drilled in the base of the pot plant meant that it couldn't retain water, was bone-dry and - subsequently - dead, and it took a bit of a walkabout to find the coffee machine.

I would still not hesitate to stay again if I needed a comfortable room in London.

Room Tip: Some rooms don't have windows. Decide if this is important to you or not. Also, I would avoid a...

I really liked this hotel, starting with the Not at all like home motto. The rooms are spartan but very well designed and great fun; excellent bed and showers. The vibe is young, the people at the non-desk in front are very friendly and cheerful and you're steps away from Brick Lane, Spitalfields, a Tube stop and the great Sunday market. Despite what the site says, there's no breakfast bag anymore.

Room Tip: Splurge for a window.

Like a work of modern art, beautiful to look at but functionless, the Qbic hotel is not a proper hotel. It is clean, it is conveniently located and the staff are very helpful. But in the rooms there are no wardrobes. There are no draws. There is no comfortable chair. There is no desk. And there is no toilet door. If the toilet faces the bedroom door, pray that nobody opens it. If it faces the window, draw the curtains so that nobody in the adjacent office buildings can see you. Of course, exhibitionism might be your thing. Then hopefully you also have a partner who enjoys watching you defecate in the middle of the bedroom and filling it with a toilet aroma.

Room Tip: There are public lavatories opposite the lifts. Bizarrely, they have doors and they seemed to be use...
