“Lovely discreet and cosy restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014 via mobile

Hidden away in Richmond Mews the restaurant is very dark and atmospheric. Food was wonderful. Even had a children's menu for my 12 year old. Great attentive service - pricey but special! Cocktails were a bit expensive and you might be lucky and see some celebs wandering about!

First stay at this hotel having heard good things. New years eve wasn't cheapest time to try it out but we were very pleased and will definitely return.
Superb location, and quality feel to the hotel. Room was tastefully decorated and gave a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.
Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and well executed.
Nice small hotel feel and staff were very attentive and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Having stayed at the Soho and Charlotte st hotel previously we thought it would be a good choice for a family stay on New Years eve( also surprise belated birthday for husband)
We booked a deluxe junior suite which was very spacious and extremely clean but dissappointed with only one window - the hotel pics show deluxe suites with wonderful dual floor to ceiling windows. Anyway, settled in to an evening watching a film before dinner but disturbed three times by housekeeping wanting to do turndown ( at 5 pm!) which would not have been such a problem but they wanted to convert the sofa - which we were sitting on - to a bed ( for my son)
On previous occasions at a Firmdale hotel we have been greeted by a small gift/ note from management but not on this occasion. Had a glass of champagne from the complementary bottle before dinner but on our return the bottle had been removed - this was swiftly replaced following a conversation with the duty manger who was very apologetic and extremely helpful ( though my promised small gift never arrived)
Dinner ok but service went downhill once tables filled up - wine ordered with food arrived after we had finished eating. Breakfast was wonderful - great choices and service
All in all a nice experience but after spending over £1000 for one night I was hoping it would have been a perfect stay but returned home dissappointed. The hotel advertised a New Years eve night package with champagne , breakfast and more..May be my expectations were set too high as I felt the more... never materialised
Prior to arriving reservations emailed to say that if available they would try to change to a room on the fifth floor if available and had made a note on our reservation but no mention of this on check in - totally understand it was down to availabilty but would have been nice for the desk staff to have mentioned it - but check in process was very business like - no conversation as on prior stay at Charolotte street where we really felt warmly welcolmed.
All in all just did not feel like a five star experience.

Room Tip: Not sure if value for money to pay for the deluxe suite as on previous stay the deluxe room just as...

Execellent of so many levels!!
Excellent 1: Great location! 2 minute walk to Oxford street, 10 minute walk to Trafalgar square, restauranrs all around
Excellent 2: The room was clean and equipped with everyrhing we needed. A small kitchenette was a bonus and very cleaverly thought out.
Excellent 3: The staff were extremely helpful. Although you'd expect hotell staff to be helpful, these guys really knew how to treat their customers. They were extremely polite and accomodating. Keep up the food work guys!

5 of us had afternoon tea here on Christmas Eve. The entire experience was absolutely marvelous. The sandwiches were varied and kept coming. Scones were fresh baked and the sweets were to die for. It wasn't cheap but was a lovely pre Christmas treat

We turned up late and hungry on Christmas Eve having been badly let down by Vantra vitao and couldn't have been made more welcome. The atmosphere was lovely, as ever (have visited several times before for drinks) and we had a superb meal (fish and chips and chargrilled tuna steak). The head waiter simply couldn't have done more to help us and was extremely kind and considerate of our daughters special diet. The cocktails and wine were all excellent too and we couldn't fault the evening - thank you guys for restoring our faith!

We were looking for a change from our 'usual' London hotels and found the Soho to suit us extremely well for two nights in London pre-Christmas en route between family in Paris and family in Norfolk! Check in and welcome were efficient and friendly. Luggage service on arrival was great.
I had decided to be a little extravagant and we took a Junior Suite which was very spacious, delightful, contemporary design. Space for all our baggage and shopping! The view from the very large windows (on the first floor) was a bit commercial/industrial but the roller blinds gave a sense of privacy and the heavy curtains cut out all light very effectively.

The quality of furniture and fittings was evident throughout.

The lounges were very comfortable. The bar very lively and the restaurant seemed good for the breakfast and lunch that we had there.

Room Tip: Probably good to book on a higher floor.
