“Modern, elegant and quiet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

The hotel is walkable to most theatres and many attractions but is a few blocks to the subway, not a problem as less than 10 minutes' walk. I love its modern very clean, bright feel, no crushed velvet and such. It is in a very quiet alcove even though in a relatively busy area. Service is top notch. Everything here is understated elegance. Bedding is top quality and gives you that squeaky clean impression. Price is fair compared to others nearby. I've stayed twice in the past two years and would always return here.

There's been a great deal of fuss about the latest Firmdale opening, Ham Yard - a great place for sure - but let's not forget the completely fabulous Soho hotel.

Still the best, most luxurious yet homely place to stay with a staff that couldn't be bettered.

Room Tip: Never had a bad room here.

Stayed here with work for one night. It is an unbelievable hotel, the finest of luxury you will ever experience. Excellent staff too. And I definitely recommend having breakfast here if you happen to stay, it's delicious

We chose The Soho Hotel for our wedding reception and we've subsequently spent a few nights here. There is a number of reason which initially inclined me to choose this hotel from many other for my wedding day:

1.Location - trendy Soho is favorite neighborhood as it's low key, fun and unpretentious and hotel's location gives you immediate access to all things london: Soho restaurants, Oxford street shopping, countless bars, the China town and so on.

2.Service - I cannot begin to describe how incredibly helpful the stuff was, catering to every single request (and a bride has many) efficiently, quickly and with a warm smile. They've even offered to send someone to their sister-hotel at 2am because they were out of earplugs.

3. Design - the hotel is nicely decorated, with numerous lounge spaces available for hire for private events. The room wasn't too big but the bathtub was huge and it had and inbuilt tv in wall next to it. The bed was amazingly soft.

4.Restaurant/bar - the breakfast was simply amazing and offered a good variety of delicious food. We've had brunch too and it's worth going back simply to have some more! The bar is lively and cocktails are excellent albeit expensive.

The hotels must be popular with celebrities because we've spotted a certain celebrity from Friends with his family. This guy could have stayed at the Ritz but he chose The Soho Hotel - that says enough.

My only complaint doesn't have to do much with the hotel and indeed only with the drunk banker-looking types that used the hotel room for a private party and opened the door with a glass of champagne when I furiously knocked at 2.30 am on their door. So maybe expect that.

This is such a good hotel. Staff are extremely attentive and friendly, rooms are large by London standards and comfortably furnished. But, the great thing about this hotel is its unique provision of services including a luxurious movie theatre and lovely sitting room / library which have honesty bars.

The location of this hotel, could not be better, close to shopping on Oxford street, theatres and multitude of restaurants in Soho.

One word of advice, the rooms do differ in size and style quite significantly, even within the same classification. It helps to request the largest rooms of that particular type.

It is no surprise that this is the hotel of choice for many celebrities. In the two times that I have been at this hotel the paparazzi have been camped outside......

Room Tip: Be particular as no two rooms are the same ie request largest room.

Stayed with my wife 4 nights at this gem of a hotel, situated in convenient SOHO, a trendy, shop/restaurant filled area of London. The staff at this hotel is outstanding. Each member greets you with a smile, and cannot do enough to make your stay at this beautifully designed hotel more pleasant. The rooms and public areas are chicly decorated in a hip, english style, the gym is well equipped, and the restaurant delicious. So why not the excellent rating? Only for the things the Staff was not responsible for. On our first evening in our room, we discovered that the shower did not drain properly. After one call, the problem was fixed. After our second evening, we encountered an air conditioning problem, (it didn't work), noticeable when you got off the elevator, and eventually making its way to our room. The Staff to the rescue, again. They could not have been more proficient in moving us to another room where the air conditioning did worked, (not an upgrade, and perhaps a downgrade, the manager said the Hotel was full), unfortunately its never fun to pack up your bags when you are ready for bed. Of course, you try to put these problems out of your mind, but somehow they stick with the stay. After all. I feel, especially at a hotel of this caliber, the air conditioning and plumbing should work properly. Additionally, the Hotel does not have a spa, and while we had an excellent message, the one treatment room is next to the gym and bathroom, where your peace and tranquility is unfortunately disturbed by associated noises. Understand, I would stay at this Hotel again. That is how good the Staff was. Only hoping next time, these facility problems will not cloud an otherwise pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are best, they do not look directly into other nearby buildings

Romantic 1 night stay, I had a lovely time. Valet car service (parking), gorgeous rooms and friendly stuff. Breakfast was so delicious too, great location, central London but in a quiet dead-end street. I would stay here again. Perfect for couples.
