We visited Apple Apartments with friends on a trip to the city. Located at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich the flats are a 5 minute walk from the DLR giving access to the tube with ease. Not relevant to the review but the lift is currently out of order at the Cutty Sark DLR making the 140 odd steps with luggage a challenge.

Part of a new development the apartments are adjacent to a Waitrose giving easy food and wine buying nearby and offer secure underground parking for £15 per day. The flats are modern and well appointed though the decor feels slightly cheap. Dishwasher, washing machine, freeview TV were all present as was free, though dismally slow, wifi.

As the complex is still under construction we were subjected to construction work directly under our apartment, something not mentioned to us on booking. Despite this the double glazing dealt well with the noise. The one criticism from all present was the temperature. The flat was far too hot and very stuffy making sleep a challenge.

Staff were courteous and friendly though we did feel somewhat cheated by the concierge when we asked for a taxi to be booked. We asked specifically for a black cab but were told only a mini cab was available. I got the impression the concierge was a mate of the cabbie and it was rather overpriced.

Overall we had a great trip, if the construction was complete or the apartment had air con or fans we would have rated excellent, particularly with price in mind.

Room Tip: Check on the status of construction work when booking.

Dear markcjd,

Thank you for your honest review of your recent stay with us at Apple Apartments Greenwich. I am happy to hear that overall you had an enjoyable stay. There are however a number of points raised, that I can reassure you we are working on to improve guests experience.

I can confirm that the construction work for the small foot bridge connecting the Thames Path beside the building is due to be finished in early November. The development of one remaining block to the east of the New Capital Quay development again is looking likely to be finished around this time.

Regarding your request to book a taxi, as we are within a new development, away from any main roads, it is difficult to arrange black taxi's as these usually need to be hailed on the street. There are a few companies such as Radio Taxis where you can pre book these, however you do need to give advanced notice for this. I'm sorry to hear that you felt cheated and can assure you that this was not the intention to make you feel this way.

WiFi is something that we have looked at and since your post, I can assure you that we have enhanced the bandwidth to increase speeds. Our apartments at Greenwich do not feature air conditioning, however we do have fans available on request.

I do hope that we can welcome you back again soon.

Best Regards

Jermaine

We booked 2 nights for my 40th birthday party with the familiy. The kids were excited about the view of London. The appartement was spacious. The service was excellent. A Waitrose around the corner instead of a bar/restaurant.

Just got back from a weekend break & had to say how much we enjoyed staying at Apple Apartments! We had read on here that they were tricky to find so asked at the management office who happily gave us .The girls in the booking in office were really helpful & let us check in early as our apartment was ready. We had a 2 bed roomed apartment with a fabulous view of the river! Very impressed with the fact there was a bathroom & ensuite( great for us plus 17 year old daughter!) lovely spacious apartment with absolutely everything you needed from cutlery,crockery,toiletries....they had thought of everything!! Yes you have to travel to get into London but we soon got used to the journey which took us about 25 mins via DLR then the underground from Bank station. Will definitely use these apartments again....fabulous!

Couldn't fault a 2 night stay - competitive with local hotels for much better facilities & siting. Others refer to lack of signage & info on website which does make it difficult to find, so may be helpful to know their reception is Room 8 in Admiral's Tower.right at the end of Dowells Street. Car access from Norway Street and entrance to Waitrose car park.
But once you're in there's everything you need, all in good order & clean as a whistle.

Room Tip: you need to pay extra if you want 'river view' but all are light & airy & our standard had a river view from one narrow window !

We booked 2 nights to show our 1 & 3 year olds the sights of London. Very surprised by the size of the apartment, lovely big space. Arrived for check-in and asked to wait 40 mins as it wasn't ready, probably my fault as I hadn't emailed our arrival time, but a park on site and quick trip to Waitrose for essentials soon passed the time. Went back and they couldn't contact house-keeping so we were given another apartment, I think we were upgraded to a river view! We were very impressed. Unfortunately our children were both ill in the night (1 day in nursery and they caught a bug, typical!). Asked at reception in the morning and new bedding was provided for a much more enjoyable 2nd night. Thank goodness they also provided washing tablets for the washing machine - hopefully the neighbours were already awake at 6am! Travel cot and high chair provided were great too. The trip into London to the sights by DLR/Underground was a bit of a drag so used the Thames Clipper, much more enjoyable and still walking distance to the apartment. Use Greenwich Cutty Sark stop on DLR, We didn't think this had been communicated well on directions supplied.

Room Tip: River view was nice for sitting on the balcony

Dear BARTLETTTOWERS,

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the children were not well and happy to hear that the team were accommodating to your needs.

The Thames Clipper is a great way to get into central London and a form of transport a lot of our guest like to use.

I hope we can welcome you back again very soon.

Kind Regards

Jermaine
