we recently went as a group of 12 and were allocated the private room and asked to go for the tasting menu.
we walked through the two floors of the restaurant and it looked very nice and then we were presented with the private room which was a low ceiling basement room a bit akin to a dungeon.the seating, tables and decoration were not as nice as the main restaurant but as we were all having a good evening ti didn't seem to matter too much.
the food was served in good time and was excellent. the tasting wines were also very well matched.
the frustration is because of the room and also having looked at the main menu i wish we had chosen to take that and not the tasting menu. also although the service was good the staff were very removed and miserable.
Its not a cheap place so these frustrations will linger with us till we go back and eat in the main restaurant because it seems that we would really enjoy that.
