“My favourite place to walk in London”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

I've spent a few days walking in either direction along Regents Canal, and found it to be a beautiful and quiet area to explore. Walking past the zoo, Regents Park, Little Venice, and of course, the stunning array of narrowboats, all the way to Camden Lock, grabbing some lunch at the Camden Markets, then slowly wandering back again, was a great and cheap way to spend a day away from crowds of tourists.

“Very underrated part of London”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Apparently this place is hard to get to from the rest of London, and so it's not on many people's to-do list. However, if you have already "been there and done" all of the touristy stuff in London, I would greatly recommend a walk through this Canal.

We walked from my friend's flat in Islington and it was about 20 minutes.

There is a patch right before Baring Street where there are a bunch of cafes and places to eat, so you can use the walk for a destination for food. (We stopped by Towpath cafe because there was outdoor seating, but there are a bunch more if you keep walking down)

Beware of the runners and bikers on the path, however. It's a bit narrow, and so don't fall in!

“A haven of peace & tranquility in the heart of London”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

This is the first I have walked part of the Regents Canal on a lovely warm sunny day. On this occasion I joined the canal walk near Lords cricket ground and headed east towards Camden Lock. This is arguably the most scenic part of the walk with some fantastic old houses on your right and it was enhanced by the tourist barges which I think run from Camden Lock to Little Venice.

What a lovely walk it was in mid April on a glorious sunny day with the fresh greenness of the trees and the cherry blossom. It is a real haven of peace and tranquillity and it is so quiet and relaxing that it is hard to believe that you are in the middle of London.

Unfortunately Camden Lock brings you back to reality - not my scene, particularly as I had to plough through the crowds to Camden tube station - a case of 'after the Lord Mayors show'!

However the Regents Canal walk is a real hidden gem of London and well worth doing.

“A fine place for a quiet walk”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

The canal between Litle Venice and Camden ids a great getaway. It feels like you are in the country or maybe in another time but it is easy to step back into London and get drinks, have a meal or just sit and let the water and the boats float by
