We watched viva la drag here in June.
A very entertaining show and very funny!
The atmosphere was friendly with most getting up for a boogie. Bars were well staffed. sound was perfect. Very enjoyable.

“Boogie Woogie Bugle Bland”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

I have been to the Leicester Square Theatre before and on this occasion I was looking forward to see the latest independent offering that has been touring the UK and America.

Bugle Boy: The Glenn Miller Story should have been been a rhythmic play/musical with the pazzaz and energy of the Glenn Miller Bands distinctive sound. Instead of the excitement and great energy of the golden jazz age, the show disappointed hugely. The lead role was cast to a man that had a speaking voice so camp it lost all credibility within the first few minutes. The actor playing Glenn Miller was poorly cast, had no rhythm and was more wooden than a table top.

Despite this, the venue itself has played host to some independent gems in the past and is a lovely intimate theatre worth visiting for the right show. Worth a visit if you like theatre.

“A great comedy venue”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

I saw the magnificent Stewart Lee here in January and was pleasantly surprised at how intimate and friendly the place was. You would expect the Leicester Square theatre to be huge and impersonal, but far from it, this basement venue was perfect for comedy. Great view, great acoustics and reasonably priced beer. The central location is also a big bonus for such an intimate venue. Would go back in a heartbeat.
