“Could be better.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

This is a good way to see the sights along the river but the experience could be better. The free audio guide which should be available in several languages didn't work and our Spanish guest couldn't understand a word the crew member was saying. It was a bit cheeky that he held out a bucket for tips at the end of the trip - at over £20 for a family of four for a 20 minute trip this is just plain greedy.

“CITY CRUISE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

After seeing the Poppies at the Tower of London, we needed to get to the Emirates Airline, so the City Cruise boat trip seemed the best option, especially as the weather was kind to us.
We approached a representative about our wheelchair bound friend and she stated that help would be given to board the boat.
This is exactly what happened. Although the boat was rocking a bit, two guys carried our friend, in her wheelchair, onto the boat.
The trip was very good, with most of the important sights being pointed out over the audio system.
Our friend was quite happy to stay down stairs, so we did not find out if she could have been able to get to the top deck.
We all left the boat at Greenwich, having had a great time
Great way to see London from a different perspective, especially going under Tower Bridge

“Great trip and informative and interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

We took the boat from the London Eye down to Greenwich and returned later. In both directions we had very interesting, funny and informative commentary from one of the crew. Everyone on board was helpful and friendly. The reason for not giving a 5 is two-fold, on the return journey the trip was terminated at the Tower of London with no explanation and we had to wait around 30 minutes for another boat to take us to Westminster and the coffee was absolutely dreadful. Don't let that put you off though as it is well worth doing.

“One poor and one really great commentary”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

Travelled from Greenwich to Westminster just after 10am no queuing at all.

The commentary was OK at the beginning as it was recorded but from Tower to Westminster a crew member took over and it was dire, monotone and barely audible.

Had a wander round Trafalger Square and into the National Gallery then back to Westminster for the journey back to Greenwich.

Queues at Westminster were horrendous. Then one boat left half full and we had a longish wait for the next one.

Loved the return journey because the crew member giving the commentary was both informative and very very funny. He was well worth his tip.

Would have been one star because of queues and poor outward commentary but the return journey commentary bumped up the score.

If you are lucky and do not have a long queue and get a good commentary this trip is worth the money.

“Lunch Time Treat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

We did the Thames River trip with lunch and it was lovely. The Hostess was excellant as was all the waiting staff. The food, although little choice - chicken or veggie, was very hot and tasty.
It was a lovely way to see the sights along the river especially on a sunny day, and I would highly recommend it.
If there was a critisism it would be the PA system. It was quite hard to hear the guide above people talking.
We did it on a groupon voucher which made it exeptional value for money but if we had paid full price there would have been no complaints as it still would have been good value.
