“Recommended for the Tuesday Night quiz if nothing else”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Go here regularly for the Quiz on Tuesday nights, which is different and challenging but better than most. Food goes down well and a bottle of wine is reasonably priced

“Average beer on a quiet Tuesday lunch but it has pinball yippee!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Average pint of Taylor Landlord at a pub which looked to have too many beers on for early midweek. Saving grace was a fully working pinball machine, happiness for your reviewer!!

“Fantastic new addition to the Walthamstow scene”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

This used to be a hell hole, the new owners have done a fantastic job. The decor the punters the space and the food are all of equal merit. Great bar snacks, and substantial hearty food, burgers etc and of course the famous HOGG board, gotta be tried. Huge beer secluded beer garden. All in all a great place for a drink and the Sunday lunch is a must. At times can be overrun with Kids

“Awesome pub”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

I love this pub! Such a great neighbourhood vibe. Lots of choices on the menu plus the daily special. They also have Sunday Roasts on Sundays (obviously). The only thing I didn't manage to find was a salad. However there's plenty to satisfy all tastes - vegetarian food, burgers, fish and chips, steak, chicken, bangers and mash... delicious. A great range of beer and wine too.

They also have great theme nights - jazz night, quiz night, dance nights. Go along and check them out ... It's a great place to visit!

“Probably the best pub in Walthamstow”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Only a couple of years back, and before I moved to the area I might add, The Bell was the place to go for a punch-up, now, in my opinion, it’s probably the best pub in Walthamstow.

The place itself is huge with a great selection of real ales as well lagers, a decent wine list and soft drink alternatives. The food is also very tasty and has improved a lost since the pub first opened. The staff are very friendly and service is quick. Huge sofa’s and mismatched furniture fill the pub and the open fire is particularly cosy in the winter months, while the ample outdoor seating area proves popular in the summer.

I would agree with some of the other reviews in terms of its similarity to a crèche on the weekend. I have a young child and therefore love the fact that it’s such a family friendly atmosphere, but I totally understand those who’d rather not go the pub and be surrounded by kids; I used to be one of you!

All in all The Bell ticks a lot of boxes and is still probably the best in an area where a new gastro pub seems to be popping up all the time.
