First: I haven't slept here, I only ATE at the restaurant

and it was absolutely mindbobbling! delicious duck, really good wine, perfect pasta and salad.
Ok, we spent 200 pound, but we were 3 people, all had entree and main, shared two delicious puddings, two bottles of water, 4 glasses of wine and at the end a sweet port, a sweet wine and a shot wodka.

great to invite people to.

and the loos were cool. very clean.
the only sad thing was that it was rather loud.

Wonderfully buzzy hotel, full of art and decor of immense taste. Very cool and fun along with wonderfully comfortable rooms and a fantastic bar and restaurant. This hotel is one of our favourite hotels in London and I recommend it to all my friends ever traveling to London. The conceirge can organise anything and are extremely professional and inviting. If you want a change from over styled, stuffy hotels you will LOVE any of the Firmdale hotels!!

Room Tip: They're all great

By any standard this is a charming, quality hotel right in the heart of London. The rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The front-of-house staff are very friendly and incredibly helpfull in making a visit to London most enjoyable. Advise the concierge of your plans for the day on the way into a brillient breakfast and by the time you have finished they will have tickets and times for your events in your hand. Their dining room has great food, however, the hotel is surrounded by a wonderful variety of international restaurants. Having a quiet drink in the bar and watching the bartenders in action with the coctails is most entertaining. We would deffinitely return to Charlotte Street Hotel. Loved it!

Modern, stylish hotel with polished service. This is my favourite hotel in London. The beds are comfortable; smaller rooms make very good use of space, allowing room to comfortably work and relax. The guest lounge is a pleasant retreat from the evening crowd - Firmdale bar/restaurants do attract an evening crowd. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of delightful extras such as glowing red currents strung on smoothie glasses and a supply of vegemite tucked away in the kitchen. A compact, onsite gym makes for a refreshing change and Regent's Park is within jogging distance if you want to take your exercise outside. Broad range of good cafes and restaurants outside the front door.

Having stayed at the Soho Hotel, I found this hotel to be very similar in style and form. It has the same feel and look. My executive king room was lovely and bright with large windows. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet. The bathroom had no separate shower though but no complaints really.
Where I think the hotel could really improve is with its service. Some of the staff were great but the service was inconsistent. I tried to have a drink and bite in one of the guest only rooms downstairs but no one was around to serve for 20 mins so I had to ask the reception for help and a waiter only appeared after I asked them again. Perhaps, they need more staff.
Also, the hotel suffered a maintenance problem with no running water for a couple of hours, which I only discovered while trying to take a shower. Having to attend a formal dinner that evening, I was forced to go to the nearby hair salon to get my hair washed! No sympathy from the reception on this issue.
The location of the hotel is really good. It's about 150meters to Oxford St and there is a convenience store just less than 20 m from the hotel. A great coffee place nearby is 26. Excellent coffee, about the best I've had in London. That alone for me was a major selling point.
Hotel is not far from Paddington Station where the Heathrow Express operates. Cab fare would be less than 10 GBP.
Good choice for a hotel overall - though it could have been a great one, had the service been better.

Like another Firmdale hotel I've stayed at, Charlotte Street is an example of modern British 'style' in all meanings of the word. My suite was splendid, spacious, clean, colourful but tasteful. The first night was not a good sleep due to a noisy resident in 'the penthouse' above. Why is it people have to bang around at 02:00 am? Great amenities in the suite (403) but why only child-size bath robes? But that was changed instantly upon complaint. Faultless room service. Breakfast in the restaurant was a noisy event. This place seems to draw well heeled revellers. I ordered a full English breakfast. Utterly delicious scrambled eggs (this seems to be a Firmdale trait), the finest sausage etc. Orange juice good. And pleasant service
