A true firmdale fan the Charlotte street is a great venue even if it is slightly tucked away.

Our junior suite was lovely and we always make great use of the honesty bar and good food from the room service.

The staff were as friendly as ever especially chris the nighttime security guard.

I have always passed this hotel and thought how lovely it looked, so arranged to go for a drink and light lunch with friends. Very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed a selection of tapas dishes in the bar area and it was very enjoyable and comfortable. I would love to return and try their afternoon tea option in the restaurant.

Charlotte Street Hotel is such a wonderful place! The staff make it a pleasure. They are always available to help with any need you may have during your stay. They always had a smile and were available to answer any question. The staff at the restaurant Oscar was also wonderful. They were very accommodating even when we had a large party come in very late one night and needed dinner, they were willing to seat and serve us. The food was delicious and prepared timely. We had an early train one morning and it was no problem for them to prepare us room service at a very early time. The bed was so comfortable and the view out the window was perfection! Thank you Hotel Charlotte…we cannot wait to return!

Firmdale Hotels just gets it right on all levels.

There has been a general trend in London's busy media, arts and fashion scene to find environments where they can mingle, have meetings, enjoy much needed after work cocktails and avoid "bridge and tunnel" revellers (yes I lived in New York for ten years) in overcrowded disdainful velvet rope nightmares. Enter.. the "private members club".

Most Londoners about town will have been as a guest to the Soho House collection of "private member" style you'll know that the experience while certainly not without merits, is oversubscribed often resulting in service that can be "challenging".

The Charlotte Street Hotel in Marylebone London succeeds in creating a members style environment without the extortionate membership fees.

The level of staff training is superb. You are greeted by helpful and enthusiastic doormen who manage to navigate the busy and confusing traffic bustle to assist guests into the lobby area.
Whoever handles the staff recruitment should be commended for ascertaining personalities that are sincere, genuine and eager to ensure guests are handled diligently.

Unlike the Soho House experience where staff seem to be selected on how cutting edge their hairstyles are and whether or not their wardrobe has been bought from an obscure Dalston based designer, the Charlotte Street staff are groomed and to be honest just downright intelligent and nice people.

The Rooms are a contemporary sumptuous mix of influences. One couldn't pin point a direct phrase to summarise the "style". It's a fusion of traditional influences that come through in the patterns selected in the wall decorations (exquisite fabric covered walls in William Morris-esque patterns, expertly finished with piping for a seamless finish), complimented with modern but almost ethnic bold patterns on the curtains. Throw in super modern design influences in contemporary lighting and superb "LOEWE" televisions and audio equipment and interesting sculptures and artwork and you have it. The juxtaposition of these design choices just works, effortlessly, in creating a space that you feel immediately at home and probably don't even question why.

The bedding is divine and the pillows of the highest quality.

One thing to note which really impressed me: the room service is exemplary. The staff promise 5-10 minutes for drinks, ice and sundries and 20-25 minutes for food, dinner and more complicated requests. This was adhered to in precision timing.

The communal areas downstairs are just a dream. There is a living room with a real fire at the back of the ground floor, only accessible to guests and an honesty bar accessible 24 hours with top shelf liquors and champagnes. I made five visits there and one night some friends and I played scrabble until the early hours by the fire.

The staff remembered my name and my three booked nights turned into seven as I just couldn't leave.

This is a hotel experience that would be hard to beat - managing to fuse a relaxed, non pretentious, private luxury feeling with strong customer service and impeccable interiors, the Charlotte Street Hotel is a first rate choice.

Keep it Firmdale !

Stayed here on a business trip in April. The room was very comfortable and quiet (a great accomplishment considering how busy Charlotte Street is). Service is top notch and I found it better than the Sanderson hotel!

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the back of the hotel
