“Good nights!”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

We stayed at the hotel only for sleep, but the beds were really comfortables and the was no noise in the room. The hotel is clean and cool.
With free wi-fi and cheaper breakfast it would be perfect. I really recommend it if you want to have a cheap holidays in the centre of the city.

I have stayed in Premier Inn all over the UK. Most of them are all the same and if you write about one, you write about the lot of them to be fair. They are all good.
This hidden Premier Inn is tucked away off the main road so is very quiet during the night.
Myself and the Mrs wheeled our luggage from the nearby underground (Monument Station) to the hotel that is about 200 meters away. Directions are, walk out of the underground, turn right and walk towards the monument, (you will not miss it) turn left and walk along the road and turn left just after the pub called The Walrus & Carpenter. Hotel is just up the hill on the right.
I struggled to find it so that's why I added the directions.
The staff were all very welcoming. They all went the extra mile greeting us and checking us in. They were so friendly but not in your face if you like. Anybody could see that these guys were genuinely happy in their work and actually wanted to be there.
The place is spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Our room was nice but I didn't like the fact that the windows did not open. There was airconditioning but that was stuck on 21c and kept on switching on and off for some reason. There were no instructions for using the aircon. Even though it was February, it was warm outside and warm inside.
The beds are amazing, so much more comfy than normal Premier Inn Beds.
I visited the Tyme Restaurant at night just the once and found it quite good and reasonably priced.
I only visited once as one of my main attractions to London was the curry mile Brick Lane.
The Breakfast was self service, I made the fatal mistake of going down at 8:30am (Friday 21st Feb) along with everybody else and their kids (half term). There was a massive queue and the poor staff got battered and mistakes were made such as, no juice glasses left next to the juices, My Mrs Veg sausages turning up after she had eaten her meal, running out of bacon, etc, they were bombarded. Not their fault. It wasn't being Managed properly to be honest. One member of staff even said she was new. She didn't have to say that as I thought she was doing ok.
The next morning we went down a hour earlier and it was totally different. Staff were efficient, food was hot and plentiful and we were in and out within 30mins.
I ate breakfast on four different mornings during my stay and it is best to go early. I have to say that on all four occasions the plates were cold despite being stored in plate warmers. They were cold, not even warm. Maybe some kid got burnt fingers or something and complained.
That was my only complaint. COLD PLATES.
There are a few Banks nearby and a few shops, Tesco are also within walking distance. You can walk to the Tower of London in 20mins. The Hotel is ideally situated.
On our last day we checked out and the staff happily stored our luggage for us all day until we were ready to leave. We returned to the hotel at 5pm to collect our luggage and even after we had checked out the staff remained polite and engaged in conversation with us.
If I was going to stay in a London Premier Inn again, I would stay here again no problem.
Well done Premier Inn and all of the Staff that made our stay comfortable. You guys are a credit to Premier Inn, London and the UK.
Thank you.

We stayed 5 nights and experienced very friendly, helpful service from staff when checking in/out and at meals. Hotel is layed out well and breakfast buffet had good choices and good quality. Room beds and pillows were good quality (kids' single bed was a little too firm, but not serious enough to raise it to staff. Rooms were clean and well organized. Tub was a bit high to step into. Location was great! Enjoyed being so close to Tube stop, Tower of London, boat cruise, Monument, casual restaurants for easy access with kids. Great place!

Very good price for a family room in a great location. Great breakfasts!
Comfortable main bed....2 children on guest beds which were slightly less comfy but they still slept!!
A very short walk over the road for great views od the River, Tower Bridge and the Shard. Shorter walk to the monument from where there is an even better view.
Children were happy, we felt we had a good room for a great price and always love the breakfasts. Highly recommended!

99% of staff were very friendly & hard working breakfast itself was great but limited tables meant long queues.
Only one lift working so a pain if you are on upper floors
Rooms very stuffy no opening windows & min temp limited to 19 deg
Overall very clean & tidy very convenient location would recommend if they could sort out the stuffy rooms as We got a poor nights sleep
