I stayed here with 9 colleagues as we were attending an event at Old Billingsgate.

We arrived early but were made to feel very welcome & the staff stored our luggage so that we could go & find some lunch.

The hotel is very centrally located. We walked around Monument for a while before sitting along the riverside eating our lunch.

The following day I walked over to Borough Market for breakfast before heading to Tate modern.

The hotel was spacious, clean and the staff were extremely welcoming. We would definitely book this hotel again.

Breakfast was lovely and as always, the bed was amazing!

We've always found Premier Inn to be particularly good and I'm happy to say this one more than met our expectations. We had booked a Saturday night while my girlfriend was at a hen do and I was seeing friends.

We arrived early (12:30) to see if we could get an early check in as my girlfriend had booked it but was expected at a hen do at 2pm (the normal check-in time) so I had visions of having to check us both in then travel halfway across London to give her a room key. The reception staff sorted all this out with no fuss at all - we were allowed to leave our bags and then I came back at 2pm to pick up the bags and check us in and they left a room key behind reception for her and she just had to give her name and room number when she came back in the early hours of the morning.

The room was lovely and clean - I think this is a very new hotel. The great thing about the location is it's wedged between office blocks on the outskirts of the City so it's totally dead at weekends which means it's blissfully quiet - you couldn't hear any sirens or traffic, the only sound was the (effective and most welcome) air conditioning! Shower nice and hot and powerful, bed was perfect (as usual from Premier Inn - we are considering buying one of the beds for home). Plenty of tea and coffee making bits, and to top it all a massive wall mounted TV and sockets into which you could plug AV, HDMI or a USB stick if you wanted to bring your own films with you to watch.

Only two small gripes I had about our stay. Firstly the toilet has those annoying pull-towels instead of proper toilet roll, but my girlfriend pointed out this is probably to stop cheapskates stealing toilet rolls, and secondly the wi-fi wasn't great. Apparently you get 30 free minutes a day, which you can take as and when you want. I connected for 5 minutes then disconnected - later in the day I tried to get on again and it said I'd used up my allowance. I tried again the next morning (i.e. on a whole new day) and it still said I'd used my allowance. To make it worse, the mobile wireless network signal is really bad in the area.

So this place gets full marks from us. It annoys me a bit that Premier Inns in these places are so much more expensive than their other hotels out around the UK but in this case I think it's worth every penny.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook office buildings, but all are very quiet

We were aware that there were some issues with internet connection dropping out which has been escalated to the company which provides our wi-fi services.

We hope to welcome you back to Monument in the future and thank you again for posting such great comments, we apologise once again for the issue with wi-fi.

Stayed here for a family break with one child. Check in was really smooth and really nice staff. We had a problem with the restaurant but this was sorted out immediately . Rooms were extremely clean and could give a few of the 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed in a run for their money. The location is great only 5 minute walk from tube and then the tower of London the other way. I would definitely stay here again mainly due to how nice all the staff are nothing seemed too much trouble well done premier inn

My son and I stayed in this Premier Inn for one Saturday night. I had chosen it because we needed to be in the City of London and I wanted to have a hotel with a reception desk manned 24 hours a day because of a late return in the evening. The situation is perfect if you want to get to the Tower of London, St Paul's, Borough Market, the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern etc, and very close to the river if you want to walk along the river path. From the outside the hotel doesn't look much and it's slightly tired looking in the reception areas but the twin room we had was absolutely fine, extremely comfortable beds and very clean. The staff were, without exception, helpful, friendly and charming. I saw nine or ten parties of people check out of the hotel while we were there,, all nationalities, and each one commented on how friendly everyone was. The breakfast is self service and although there must be times when you have to wait because of pressure of numbers, the staff were dealing with seating people very quickly when we went through. My only small criticisms would be that for a fairly expensive stay, it's unusual not to have dressing grows provided - obviously not vital but reasonably normal - and there is no telephone in the room so if you want to contact reception you have to go downstairs to do it. Other than that, it was great and those are only small niggles. It's not cheap - but then it was the City on a Saturday night, so to be expected that it would be pricey - but it was extremely convenient, friendly and comfortable.

At Premier Inn we always strive to give the best value for money. Sites in central London are priced according to the high demand and events in the area, but we always give the most competitive rate possible.

When you pick up our Premier Saver rate online by booking in advance, booking rooms can be of even greater value.

We hope it won't be long before we welcome you on your return to London Bank (Tower).

Can't fault anything with this hotel - great location (2 minute walk to Monument Underground Station which serves the Circle and District lines), but much quieter than you might imagine. Room was a very good size, extremely clean and well-equipped, staff were some of the most helpful we've ever dealt with, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

We have stayed at a number of hotel chains but will definitely be putting Premier Inn at the top of our list from now on.
