“Lots of positives”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Lots and lots of positives about this little hotel in Wandsworth. First of all it has a fabulous staff team. We had great service from everyone but have a special thankyou to James, Miriam and Alan who made us feel so at home. Our room was small - and there were some issues - but all were dealt with professionally and courteously. Breakfast was fantastic - the eggs benedict was the best I've ever had. I did want to have the same again the next day but decided to try the full. That was also excellent. You can tell the chef really knows what he's doing and the quality of the produce is very high. In my experience that's unusual at this class of hotel in London. We were in London during the heatwave in July 2014. It was 30 degrees and then some with awful humidity. Staff kept their cool and the brilliant little air conditioning unit worked well in our room and best of all was quiet enough - even on full - not to disturb our sleep. We would have no hesitation recommending the Brewers Inn to friends and colleagues needing to stay in this part of London. The free car parking is a major plus. We will definitely be staying here again. Thanks to all for great services and a lovely relaxing stay.

We stayed here after a day at Wimbledon, it is within walking distance of but to be honest its quite a long walk so catching a taxi or bus would be easier. We arrived around 9.30pm and although food was still being served, unfortunately what we wanted to order had sold out. There is very little in the way of restaurants in the area but a couple of takeaways and Tesco nearby. The bed in our room had most definitely seen better days- not comfortable at all. There was air con but every time we turned it on, it would turn itself back off again so after falling back to sleep would wake up hot again. The room was at the front on the main road. It was incredibly noisy and the amount of sirens going past also helped to keep us awake. The room was clean and well stocked with teas/coffee/toiletries. The breakfast was ok-and staff very friendly. A veggie option on the full english would have been nice though.

Room Tip: not number 4!!

Below the expensive luxury bracket many affordable hotels in London are part of national chains and lack any character. The Brewers Inn just off East Hill in Wandsworth combines a real pub atmosphere with great refurbished bedrooms and friendly public spaces. The bedrooms are well away from the bar areas and are quiet. Its convenient for Wimbledon, Putney and Chelsea and you can walk up to Wandsworth Common for some exercise. You might want to take dinner in one of the many restaurants nearby in Wandsworth Town but the breakfast should not be missed.Other advantages include Wi-Fi and off street car parking. The young staff are always friendly and helpful and the Brewers Inn has become a must stay in London.

Room Tip: Room 3 on the first floor is a really big space with window views across to the Town Hall

Stayed here for business in a superior double. Great welcome from the staff and first impressions of the interior were excellent - plush enough but also relaxed and friendly. Up to the bedroom and what a relief! It was spacious, bright and clean with a huge comfortable bed and a big, well equipped bathroom. The free wifi actually worked and the comfortable sofa was great for TV viewing. The desk was ideal for working from too. Air con was quiet and very effective on a very warm day. I had supper in the restaurant and both the service and the food were spot on. Great night's sleep despite being on a very busy road. I was told when I checked in that breakfast was not to be missed and they weren't fibbing. I had Eggs Royale - poached eggs with smoked salmon on a muffin - and they were delicious. Was very sad to only be staying one night and not sure when I'll be back that way next but when I do I won't hesitate to rebook. When you're working hard the last thing you need is to end up staying somewhere disappointing. No risk of that here. I would definitely recommend without hesitation on every level - food, rooms and ambience.

We were visiting family who live locally and called in for a meal on a Bank Holiday weekend,we were greet by friendly and helpful staff, four of our group ordered the Sunday roast which was a huge portion when it arrived, only criticism would be we didn't have a lot of choice of veg,our other two in the group had the burger which came with fries, proper chips would have been better, apart from that it was great value for money!

Great breakfast, comfortable room.
Location good. Breakfast room locked until 8 am on weekends is a little irritating when you want to get out of the room area. I can recommend the hotel. Entry and exit may be tough as the bar is the main attraction for the site and the hotel entrance is not well signposted.

Having never stayed above a pub I wasn't expecting too much. The booking process was fairly simple but there was a rather confusing email that was sent which needed clearing up. We were allowed to check in early so a good start. On first impressions the room was good, enough space and was clean. We had numerous air conditioner units right outside our window, fine for my partner but not for me, I had a terrible nights sleep due to the constant drone. The ceiling had a big stain on, plug sockets are in unsuitable places and there aren't enough of them. The rail in the bathroom to help you get in and out of the bath is loose meaning we almost took a tumble. Breakfast was a bit of a muddle, no clear tables, buffet items empty and service below par.

BUT - The staff we encountered were good, obviously trying hard, especially the girl who checked us in and out. All of the above (except the air conditioner units) are only minor things and could be easily rectified.
