“Brilliant pub let down by ignorant staff”

This is a very nice pub with great interior and a good selection of ales. It is, however , all the more disappointing that the staff consists of south Europeans who don't have a clue about anything to do about pub culture and the serving of beer. I found the staff very rude and in knowledgeable about beers. Sadly something that is happening all over the capital.

One of London's classic pubs; early c19 building, Victorian decor. Excellently kept ales. Food a bit overpriced for what it is. But definitely worth a visit; friendly staff. Tiny w.c.s and garden!

Called in to The Lamb on our way to King's Cross after spending a weekend in London. We were surprised to find the pub empty despite it being 1pm on Sunday. However, the landlord was most friendly and suggested we sit at the best table in the house. The menu has a good choice without being too expansive and was reasonably priced. The bar serves a great choice of traditional hand-pulled beers, so we made the most of not having to drive.

Waited ages for a salad and chips and then the beet root was supposed to be with a salad,in fact it was slices of beet root with dried herbs on and the a load of rocket.
So much for marinated beet root salad.

As Pubs go, it is still one of the best, however I felt they were sitting on their laurels a little. The beer was good, without being great, and it was a bit pricey for the location. English speaking bar staff would have helped .

Having said that, it is still better than any generic pub, and if you are in the area and fancy a pint it is well worth dropping in.
