Such a beautiful pub!

Beautiful glass etchings and leather sofas and some of the few "snob screens" in central London. Meaning, small etched glass partitions to keep the riff-raff away from the people of quality. They fit about six nicely and about eight roughly ;)

Much quieter at lunchtime, gets livelier after work, but no gaming machines or music, just a pub full of people having a laugh and a few pints of the reasonably priced Sam Smith's beers.
As always, the spirits and mixers are their own brand. They serve food, but just the basic pub grub, nothing to write to home (or to Tripadvisor) about.

But worth stopping for a pint, the interior (and I have been told the gent's too) are beautiful "Victoriana"

We visited after looking in the Camra guide and our London guidebook, mainly visiting to view the interior and we certainly weren't disappointed. There was gorgeous pristine tiling, etched glass and mosaic floors. Samuel Smiths have undertaken a magnificent restoration job. We were so glad we managed to get here. Enjoyed some lovely Sam Smiths ale too!!

Lovely place. Refurbished a few years ago to a high and original standard. Strangely limited choice of non standard spirits. A long time since I've had a pint of Sam Smiths.

Such a beautiful pub. Can't be faulted in that department and congratulations to all involved in keeping her looking like this.

Service is good. Atmosphere is unique. Even the toilets have a certain charm.

Difficult to find a downside. But some real ale enthusiasts may find Samuel Smith's range a bit samey. There are better ales if you go for the bottles.

But, minor criticism aside, it would be easy to spend the whole day and the whole evening on this place!

I recently went to this pub with some colleagues after they praised it highly having been for drinks there before. The pub itself was absolutely gorgeous - very antique looking and draws in quite the crowd during after work hours. The overall atmosphere is lovely and would likely go again maybe earlier in the day or later in the evening when you can grab a seat. The only downfall is the bar staff. I found them to be quite rude, especially after one woman got our order wrong having repeated ourselves 3 times and then became very offensive and disrespectful. However I wouldn't let this put you off, its a must see for its beautiful architecture.
