Just been to see 'Salad Days'. An excellent performance and a tonic to boot. We have had the music and songs rattling around our heads ever since. Apparently seems to run every 2 years here so - fingers crossed - hoe to be back in 2014! Bar and restaurant looked interesting - might plan a head and book a table next time. There is a terrace on the River at the back and we braved the January airs for a while. Will check the programme in future for other events.

We recentley went to see Salad Days at the riverside studios . It is an excellent venue, with a bar and resturant which serve good food and easy to eat before or after a production. The terrace on the riverside is an interesting place to sit and watch traffic pass on the Thames. The production of Salad Days was so good that we are returning beofre the end of the run to take other members of the family.

The theatre is usually challenging (Edward Fox as Trollope last year was memorable); the cinema is good indie stuff; the bar is always lively; the restaurant doesn't disappoint, with what you might call a goodish gastropub menu, with food well cooked; and on a summer evening, to eat on the terrace as the sun goes down reflected in the Thames makes this a magical place. A great night out all round.
