“Great for comedy”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

We went here in October to see Jimmy Carr - Gagging Order. It was a great venue for such events and I would assume it's great for music too.

“Unique venue”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

First time here and it was great. Sloping floor from when it used to be a theatre give it an edge in being able to see the act. The door / entrance system was quick and painless in terms of searches and queueing and the door staff were funny as a bonus.

Don't be put off by maybe the "Brixton" element from when your parents were around, there was zero atmosphere outside or nearby. Great venue.

“Great for music”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

Been to Brixton Academy a couple of times, to see All Time Low, Frank Turner and a few others, always in the lower standing and never had a bad time. Great set up, the interior is fantastic - almost like a little town the way the building has been created around the stage! Reasonable size stage, plenty of standing space and the usual sloped floor you'd expect in a good venue, so the view of the stage is pretty decent. Good price for tickets too. Get there in plenty of time though, as the queue seems to go on for miles round the corner if you're not too prompt!
