As far as Ibis is concerned, it became through the years one of my favourite places to stay: one knows what to count on, what kind of services, and above all else, the ibis are usually pratical, functional, comfortable, clean hotels. Ibis City had one great quality: it is bang in the centre of London, a 10 minute subway ride from the centre, and about 6 minutes from the Tower of London. The staff were helpful and hospitable, the rooms clean, and breakfast was ok for that kind of hotel: at least one eats as much as possible from a varied buffet, but it could be (some other Ibis are even more varied) a bit more varied, especially as cheeses are concerned. Anyway, it was ok. There were two minor faults: our first room's door did not open and we had to change, and the wireless worked slowly in some places. We were lucky to change rooms, and everything worked perfectly from then on. On our last day, we checked out at 4.30 am, and a smaller breakfast was provided, at no cost (we were invited). It provided for a nice experience and stay.

This Ibis hotel is very well located, just around the corner from Aldgate East underground, you’ll love that. And the second station Aldgate is only few steps far.
Next door there is a Tesco Express, for convenient food and drinks.
The hotel is modern, clean and quiet. We haven’t checked the restaurant nor breakfast because there are so many options like Pret A Manger, Costa or Eat in the area.

The room size was adequate to our needs, 2 adults and an infant, we had the family room, which has an extra bed . The shower is quit big.

This is the most convenient place to stay if you are visiting London on business. The place is on the main road junction with Aldgate east tube station round the corner. Very friendly staff, modest accommodation and a decent breakfast to start your day. Arrival and departure are easy as this place is close to tube station. The Liverpool street station is a mere 12 mins walk with light luggage. The British Rail Fenchurch street station is about 15 mins walk. The river and the tower bridge takes about 20mins walk. Plenty of pubs around.
Those who love curry or Indian food, Brick lane is just 7mins away. Once you enter this lane you are lost in flavours of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Snacks, condiments and meals all are available. Hop across the street from Ibis, pack your meal and have a comfortable meal in room.
Being an Indian this is home away from home.

Room Tip: Ibis has a luggage room where you can leave your bags after check-out and go attend office. In the e...

In a town like London there everything goes in 200, it's nice to have a place close and easy to come and go.
Very clean rooms, great bed and helpful staff to a great price, minus was the bar in the lobby who was late open and the price of the breakfast and I needed an adapter for electricity and they only was for sale in the reception for 5 sterling!!!!!

Myself & my partner stayed here for 3 nights. We checked in early (11.00am) this was great as we got to start sightseeing right away. Our room was small but spotless and practical and for the price we paid this place is a steal!!! The bed was very comfortable, loads of channels on the tv. There is a tesco located next door to the hotel this was very handy. The location of the hotel is brilliant, loads of restaurants and bars around & only a few minutes on the tube and your in the heart of London. Food & drink is quiet expensive in the hotel so we opted to go out. The hotel also kindly gave us a late check out until 2.00pm :) will definately return!!!!!

We stayed at the Ibis London City during New Year's Eve and the following few days this year and it was a truly great experience: excellent value for money given the city, location and time of year and would definitely recommend it.

The room was spotlessly clean and serviced every day. The bed was new and very, very comfortable and the staff were very helpful indeed. Right next door to the hotel there was a Tesco metro, a cash machine and Aldgate East tube station - literally 30 seconds from the hotel door! On NYE, after partying in central London, we even got bus no 25 near St Paul's that took us virtually outside our hotel door - a great (and unexpected) treat :)

An additional perk to being so centrally located is that it is still reasonably quiet, the particular tube station is not wildly busy so you don't have to face enormous queues or crowds to get on the train. Commercial street, where the hotel is located, is filled with excellent bars, cafes, restaurants, etc, and a 5min walk up the road takes you to Brick Lane with all its delights!

Overall, we were very satisfied with our choice and had a great time. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room that is not on the main road.
