I took ages to decide on a hotel in London that would suit our needs, and as it turned out, Ibis London City was an excellent choice. The location was perfect - very close to the tube station with Tower Bridge an easy walking distance in one direction and Shoreditch's edgy street art and bars in the other. The hotel was good - the staff friendly, the location really quiet despite being in the middle of the city, the room smallish but clean and comfortable. It had one of those "pod" bathrooms where you can virtually sit on the loo, shower and brush your teeth all at the same time. Totally functional though, and immaculate. There was also free (albeit slow) wifi and a good selection of TV channels. The only annoying thing was that I pre-booked and paid supposedly on an 'early bird' deal with Accor, and found that it would have been significantly cheaper to have booked though an internet booking site closer to the time of our arrival.
