Stayed here for a week on business. While the hotel is clean, it is pretty basic. AC barely keeps the room from being stifling hot. Bare minimum of towels, no iron in the room, and very small rooms. For the price, it is just OK. There are better hotels for not much more in the city. The proximity of the Aldgate East tube station makes it handy get around, but it is not in the center of town and you pretty much have to tube anywhere interesting.

This place is a highlight in London where travellers normally have to expect tiny rooms for high prices. So this Hotel was absolutely ideal, the room was the Standard Ibis Size and equipped with a very good bed. Room was very clean, linens also very clean and nice size. The breakfast offered a good selection of warm and cold food and the ambiente in the lobby and breakfast area is very nice. The location of the Hotel is very close to Aldgate East and to Aldgate Tube station and to various Buslines (15, 25, 205, and some others going downtown). Directly next door is a small supermarket. Brick Lane with its variety of Indian Restaurants is just a block away and can be easily reached in 10 Minutes. My stay was very good and I would return to this place for sure.

Room Tip: My room was on 10th floor and I did not hear any noise from the street.

Smashing little hotel. Great value for money with big boy breakfast.
Very modern with excellent decor that instils what today's travellers require at an affordable price that reflects well in 2014. I would book again and recommend to friends and family.

On the map it appears out of the centre but it's easily accessed from Victoria Tube Station on the District line and the Aldgate East station is around the corner. Many restaurants that aren't part of chains are within walking distance. Hache, a popular burger place, is one. Spitalfield Market, Petticoat Lane, and Brick Lane are minutes away if you are there on a Sunday. Bars and cafés and unique boutiques are nearby. It's actually a more trendy area than the centre.
The hotel is newly renovated. Lobby has a cool design but friendly with a large bar to pull it together. Front desk is manned by young and cheerful, smiling clerks. Rooms are clean. Beds comfortable. Windows block street noise with double glass. Disposable plastic glasses in bathroom for sanitary reasons. Papers in the lobby. All for an affordable price compared to tired rooms you could get elsewhere. Hotel does not charge you for first night like some do even when you book the "right to cancel" option. Some hotels take your money and take 10 days to repay you when you cancel. Annoying policy and not familiar to North Americans.
I recommend it for anyone to stay.

Room Tip: European doubles are small so take 2 twins as an option. Beds are pulled together anyway. You will...

The familiar layout of the Ibis hotels in cities around the world make our stay comfortable and easy. This hotel is clean, efficient and a great location just 2 minutes walk from Aldgate East underground station. Although the rooms are small, the beds are comfortable and ensuite tiny bathroom has everything as needed. Wifi worked well in our room. For space to stretch there is a large lounge area and public computers available, newspapers to read, a bar and 24 hour restaurant. Breakfast was good and the manager was familiar with gluten free and able to supply bread and to point out gluten free foods. The evening meal was tasty. A good menu and once again the senior waiter was very helpful in accommodating gluten free.

Room Tip: all rooms are the same. All are quiet. No views worth looking for.
