Well rated, but also recommended by my son in law, we selected Gastronhome for a family birthday dinner. We selected their surprize tasting menu, as the kitchen was able to accommodate my pescetarian daughter. We were treated to a very special meal, with five delightful courses - vegetarian (celeriac), fish (brill), duck (monkfish for my daughter), cheese, and desert. Accompanying these we savoured their selection of accompanying wines, excellently chosen.
Presentation is essential, but the combination of flavours and textures is even more important - little touches included hard cheese shavings in the buffalo mozzarella mouse, crispy spout leaves and beetroot, shortbread base for the pear desert.
The restaurant owner was the perfect host, sharing the stories on the food, and more particularly the wines - their house champagne is a family affair!
