This hotel was an excellent place to stay with a family (or for a romantic weekend for two for that matter). The accomodations were excellent beginning with the car the hotel provided to pick us up from Heathrow. We had a huge two bedroom apartment (for our three boys 15, 13 and 10) with two baths (one bathroom was a bit small but I am really getting picky), a living room and kitchen all arranged along a long hallway. Our stay included breakfast each morning as well as a cocktail hour every evening. The hotel was within a 5 minute walk from the gates of Buckingham Palace and located in a quiet courtyard. It was also a 5 minute walk from a tube station. The courtyard was quiet, complete with fountain and outdoor dining at an excellent restaurant. The staff was more than accomodating and helpful. The concierges: Nelson, Alex and John were helpful before our arrival with booking shows and events and were helpful when we arrived by booking a rental car to Stonehenge, arranging fast track tickets to popular attractions and booking dinner reservations. I would defintely go back with my family, recommend it to my closest friends and family and take my wife back for a quite getaway when my kids are finally in college!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the building where the concierge desk was located.

Stayed in this Hotel from 20th Aug. till 23th Aug. for the first time. Location was excellent just a few steps from Buckingham Palace and a walking distance to other attractions. Upon arrival, we were greeted by all staff and check-in was smooth as silk. Escorted to our suite with good explanation of the room features. It was a big room with all what you expect to have. BF was excellent served by staff with proficiency. They have different choice of foods and beverages out-let jointly with another hotel in the same location. Just set and enjoy the service and quality.

Room Tip: Seek higher floors to enjoy the views.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful boutique London hotel at the end of July. It was a fantastic experience from the amazing breakfast which my husband declared the best hotel breakfast he has eaten, to the amazing personal service to our 5 yo son who was greated by name every time we came in to remembering his hot chocolate at breakfast 'just warm'!
We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which gave us huge space including a full dine in kitchen in which we held dinner parties for visiting family using the room service from the Michelin starred Indian restaurant downstairs!!!!
I can't recommend this hotel enough, and as a plus easy walking distance to all the best London sites!
We will return!

Room Tip: As a family we loved our suite!

I was treated to a weekend here for a special Birthday. Everything from start to finish was amazing and wonderful memories were made.
Our butler showed us to our gorgeous suite, the products were all Molten Brown, lots of little touches to make your stay special. I particularly like the lovely home-made chocolates for my Birthday and the lavender spray on the pillow for a good nights sleep. The drinks and canopies in the library are tasty as is the breakfast.
The location is good for theatres in Victoria which when visited were showing Billy Elliott and Wicked. There is good garage parking nearby.

Highly recommend. Hotel is located a 10 minute walk if not shorter to Buckingham palace. In good weather maybe 15 minute walk to Westminster abbey, Big Ben, parliament square, and The London Eye. Beautiful courtyard, rooms are modern. We had a 2 bedroom suite which worked out very nicely and thought for the price was great. Only downside was room service was fairy average but all else is excellent. Concierge is incredible and made the trip super easy with dinner plans, cars etc. if Billy Elliot or theatre is something you want to do is also walking distance. Additionally the bus tours pick up at Buckingham palace right near the hotel. We will be staying here again. It's great for children.

Repeat clients in any business are like gold dust. Now on our 6th visit over the last 4-5 years, we spent 12 nights at 51BG, the longest ever and like us met others who were repeat guests. Also a number of first time guests who had come after strong recommendations from their travel agents, particularly from the US.

51BG has been discovered (and with it I notice an increase in room tariffs - the secret is out!).

That encapsulates what 51BG brings to the table - a level of consistent high quality "Taj" level service that one has come to expect - even beyond that found in many Taj properties in India. Mohit Verma the Manager with whom we interacted the most, is proactive, and approachable. The Concierge team of Alex & Jon, with their team; the omnipresent and man of all seasons,Sergio along with James and Ezio and last but not least, the epitome of hospitality in the Library (Breakfast and evening tea/cocktail area) Erol, a jovial Turkish Manager - all makes this one of the friendliest Hotels I have stayed in. There is a new GM of the London Taj properties, Digvijay SIngh whom I met briefly and found very receptive to suggestions (and some criticism). The not so well kept secret is that the adjacent Crown Plaza will change to a "Taj" property in the near future and that can only be a good thing.

The Taj shop Khazana is well worth a visit - stocks many items not found in their Indian branches -My guess is that Lorraine, the boutique manager with whom its easy to strike a conversation with, has something to do with its success.

The rooms in the older wings may need some freshening up which I believe is planned, but the service quality makes up for any shortcomings. If the design sensibility seen in the Minsters wing is any indicator, any refurbishment planned will add great value to the hotel.

An ideal place particularly for a longer stay, the extra space in the suites is a big plus. The kitchen comes fully fitted with dishwasher and washing machine, and coupled with the great in room dining menu, provides for great flexibility if one feels like eating in.

The Quilon, the fine dining Indian restaurant, a part of the Hotel has retained the quality of their food - an inventive menu with subtle flavours. Mr.Mazumdar, the Manager of the restaurant is very helpful in accommodating special requests. Overall a great dining experience.

If this sounds like a "doctored" review, its only because the personalised service erased some of the glitches that one faced from the memory.

Room Tip: Suites in the Minsters wing.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in August. The service was second to none. Great location, fabulous staff willing to accommodate your every need. We particularly appreciated the fact that full morning breakfast and afternoon cocktails were included in our package. Our room was fantastic - like a small apartment including sitting room, kitchen, spacious bath and bedroom. The courtyard area is a nice bonus for this hotel as well. I can't imagine that I will ever stay anyplace else in London. LOVE this hotel!!!!!

Room Tip: if possible upgrade to the apartment suites in the building where the reception desk is located
