“Convenient for tube to Wimbledon and centre of London”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

We booked this reasonably priced hotel for its convenient location. We booked 4 nights as we were spending 2 days at Wimbledon tennis and 3 days sightseeing in London. Handy for the tube at South Kensington (10 minute walk) or Earl's Court (25 minute walk or 5 minutes on the number 74 bus).
Very comfortable and quiet bedroom with air conditioning. Breakfast is exactly what you get in the HIE chain. Cereal, fruit juice, fresh fruit, croissants, pastries, bread and hot food comprising scrambled egg and sausages. Nice bright breakfast room.
The staff are very polite and helpful. We will happily go back again.

Needed somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay after a trip to the tennis at Wimbledon, so I plumped for this hotel because of its location (only a few tube stops from the championships) and the price. I was not to be disappointed. The room was spotless and comfortable, Staff were extremely polite at all times and the complimentary breakfast certainly set me up for the journey home. Its was only a short 5 -10 min walk from West Brompton tube station and there was no shortage of pubs and restaurants to choose from within touching distance. We dined at the excellent Lily Tandoori where the food was very good and is recommended. Overall for the price, service and the room you will not go far wrong booking here. I will not hesitate to stay again if the price was right.

When I started looking for accommodation in London (over the Diamond Jubilee weekend), the few bed and breakfast that could fit 5 people in 1 room were either already fully booked 3 months in advance or too expensive. In desperation, I settled for the Holiday Inn Express Earls Court as the rate I got from Hotels.com was very reasonable for London during that time. The 5 of us were in 2 family rooms.Although we requested for interconnecting rooms, these were not available as the hotel was fully booked for the weekend. They did manage to get us 2 rooms opposite to one another and they were very comfortable. The bathroom looked newly refurbished too. The free breakfast was excellent and much better than expectated. Juice, a few types of cereals, a few types of bread, yogurt, sausages, eggs, beans, fruits. In fact we were there for 5 days and there was enough selection to keep us all happy. The only thing was probably the walk to the tube, which is about 7min but you could take the bus from the bus-stop outside West Kensington station and its 2 bus-stops away. The Indian restaurant just round the corner is very good and cheap too.

We booked this hotel through Hotwire and got a really great rate. The location is great, walking distance to three underground stations - West Kensington, Earl's Court and Fulham Broadway. So though the hotel is located just on the outskirts of Central London, it is well connected. The free breakfast is a hot breakfast and adequate. The rooms are compact and of course small by American standards but I would say above average by European standards. The front desk staff was extremely helpful after a pick pocketing incident on the tube. I had thought that I had lost my travel documents and they were very helpful in contacting the embassy, airlines and police. Turned out that I had left my travel documents back at the hotel which was a very lucky twist.

All in all, this was very good value for our money.

Didn't expect much to be honest but presently surprised. Rooms and breakfast were good nothing extravagant but adaquate. Professional staff and services ok. 10 min walk to tube and surrounding area is OK. Would stay again if I got a good rate.

The rooms are very basic and the bed was quite hard, it was also pretty noisy. But you get what you pay for. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they even gave us a free breakfast on the day we arrived as we came from Australia, it was super early and there was no rooms available yet. The place is clean and not too far from the tube, all in all if you can get a bargain I'd book it again.

We stayed for two nights in mid June, 2012. All in all, it was perfect for the money. The beds clean, the rooms quiet, and the breakfast hot. My only qualm is that the wi-fi was a bit expensive for my taste at 4 pounds for two hours. However, this was easily remedied by visiting a cafe anywhere in London.
