I stayed here last night for one night. We had room 60 which was down in the basement. It was basic with a very comfortable double bed (advertised as a king which it definitely wasn't!) but perfectly adequate for us for one night. Lovely big white towels and soap in the room. Plus a kettle and sundries. It was a small room as others have said but we only used it as a base. There was no hair dryer but the very friendly gentleman on reception soon found me one. The whole hotel is absolutely spotless and clean and smelt lovely! The reception area rivals a top class hotel with its modern decor.
Other people have mentioned the park across the road. There were youths out playing basketball but we never saw any worrying behaviour. We walked past it at 11pm after a meal and I never felt nervous. There were people about but no negativity.
This hotel is perfect for Kings Cross and St Pancras as it's literally minutes away.
Perfect hotel if you just need a base for a couple of days.

Good location, short walk from Kings Cross / St Pancreas stations.Friendly staff. Room and bathroom very clean, comfy bed. Reasonably priced for high season in central London. I would stay here again.

The Melville is minutes from St Pancreas yet has a quiet garden location. There is some noise from local youth in the evenings which was slightly bothersome. Room small - but this is normal in central London at this price. Very clean and everything worked! Luggage storage is properly organised and secure - not the sticking it behind reception that you sometimes get. We were on the top floor in a heatwave - and it was very hot up there. The fan didn't make a lot of difference. Something to bear in mind depending on the season.

Room Tip: Be aware that top floor will be very hot in warm weather.

I visited Melville hotel recently, i was very happy with excellent service provided by the staff they were very friendly and always willing to help with any problems, they made me feel very at home. My room was very clean it was much to my liking and to my surprise the hotel had offered free WiFi in all areas of the hotel which i found was very useful. The hotel was easy in a great location only 2 minutes away from kings cross station, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

ALL of the staff at this hotel were amazing, they fell over themselves to make sure we had an enjoyable stay, I couldn't thank them enough! Weather was red hot in London and they lent me the office fan as we couldn't sleep with the heat... Rooms were small but nice,... Noisey with locals playing football outside, but too hot to close the window! The location was a little bit far out of the way for what we went to see, but if you use the underground (kings cross) at the end of the road, it's easier.... Fantastic time... Would rate the hotel for the wonderful staff alone! Thanks so much ☺

Agree with the comments about the size of rooms in this hotel-booked it after reading reviews on TA, but the room was cramped, the double bed was pushed up against a window, therefore only one side to get in and out. Resulted in several spilled cups of coffee! There was no wardrobe to speak of, just a sort of half cupboard. The location is good, however the street outside was full of youths in hoodies hanging around the garden opposite making a lot of noise, until quite late. There is obviously no air conditioning- it is a budget hotel, but we were there in sweltering temperatures and would not leave the window open for reasons as above. All in all disappointing, would not stay there again

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front entrance which overlooks the gardens.

Dear Guest

Thanks for your review ; rest assured we are working hard to improve in all aspects of our hotel so we can make sure you have a memorable stay.

All information is clearly displayed on our website : approximate room size and size of bed . We want you to know this before deciding on your hotel. Our rooms are compact ; clean and tastefully decorated and have many free services and facilities in them. The wardrobe is sufficient for guests staying for a few nights - We have cut down on available floor space so that we can give you bigger beds which is essential for a good nights sleep.

Apologies for any noise at night ; there is a public park in the square which is open until 7 pm and then it is locked. The square is normally very peaceful all the time and our " erratic " weather helps to keep the streets empty and quiet ! However from time to time when we do actually get some sunshine - it does get busy as argyle square gardens are very attractive and open to everyone .

Thanks for your e mail

Manager

Patrick

We thank you for your time
