I guess you're paying for the location but this is the most expensive Premier Inn I have stayed in, prices comparable to much better hotels. I've always enjoyed Premier Inn's when I've wanted to stay somewhere on a budget but with this one I've viewed it in the context of the higher price.

Rooms are tiny when accommodating 2 adults and 2 children. Zero frills - no coffee/kettle, tiny TV, basic bathroom, cheap bedding (their laughably "firm" pillows are no such thing). Very odd layout when accommodating 4 - the kids effectively end up with their heads at the adults feet and vice versa.

Room decor was fairly knocked about, doors hanging off, etc. Soundproofing, the key factor for me, was disappointing. We could clearly hear most of the activity on the street despite being a few floors up and with both inner and outer windows closed. Not a particularly magic nights sleep.

Breakfast was ok if you like eating in a Wetherspoons and don't want anything particularly different to the buffet offer. The evening bar/restaurant is a soul destroying plastic pub with an extremely limited range of drinks.

It's very close to Kings Cross so it was great for the one thing I needed - being close to Eurostar - but I would try and avoid staying here again as I could get much better.

The reason for our visit to London was because my daughter and her friend had tickets to Summer in the City at Alexandra Palace. We chose to stay at this premier inn as it was so close to the station, and I thought it would be easier for getting around London from here. Also my mum came with us and this hotel was better for her too. On arrival, unfortunately our rooms were not ready as we had asked for two rooms together and this information had not been passed on. We had a little wait until it was sorted but we got a complimentary cup of tea and one mornings complimentary breakfast for all of us. Our rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The staff were extremely efficient in our requests and very friendly, chatting to us and asking how are day was going, etc.

I would recommend you get day travel passes and if you have one of the rail cards like the family one, use it as it saves money on your tickets. We got travel passes every day using our family rail card for 2 adults and 2 children and total cost was £15.80. Without a rail card it would have cost us £25 a day. It was £5.90 a day for my mum and I and only £2 a day for the girls. This was for complete use of the underground all zones and overground too which we used to get to Alexandra Palace.

My mum and I had a meal at the hotel one night which was excellent and the breakfast we had was good too. The only thing with breakfast was because they were busy and full you sometimes had to ask for plates etc but the breakfast staff were great and obliged with getting what was needed. There is a Nandos, McDonalds and Starbucks just at the end of the street too if you prefer for breakfast/a meal although Central London is so close by tube it is worth eating out there as there is a huge choice of restaurants. One thing I would recommend if wanting a snack when out and you love ice cream is to visit the Haagen Daze ice cream cafe in Leicester Square. If you've never been try it.

We stay in a lot of premier inns and this one was great. I would recommend anyone visiting London for an overnight or weekend to check out this hotel. 2 minutes from Kings Cross and St Pancreas stations and great underground service too.

This is my first ever review for Trip Advisor and I hope it has been of use to some of you.

we spent one night here as we had an early Eurostar train to catch the morning after .
we had a really lovely young man check us in , who i had a joke with about our name and his age !
the room was just what you get in every other Premier Inn , and VERY CLEAN which is the most important thing to us .
Breakfast was Great we love the crumpets and mini muffins x and again the staff couldn't of been nicer .
it was just across the road to the station which was just what we needed .
so all in all it's perfect for us and would defo recommend

The Premier Inn at Kings Cross was the best that I have ever stayed at. It was more like a top hotel, rather than a budget inn. Its staff were both friendly and efficient in equal measure. The location of this Premier Inn was perfect for access to and from all areas of London and despite being adjacent to Kings Cross Station, it was amazingly quiet. It was clean and comfortable and had a great in hotel eating facilities. Coffee and soft drinks could be purchased 24 hours a day in the reception area. I would recommend this Premier Inn to anyone visiting London on business, or for pleasure. Wifi and a safe were available in the room.

Dear 443traveller,

Thank you for your comments. Whilst we do not supply bottled water in the rooms we can assure all guests that the cold water in our bathrooms is perfectly potable. We do, however, apologise for any problems you may have experienced with one of our vending machines.

In line with Premier Inn's health and safety policy, it is not possible to open the windows in our external-facing rooms - although all are equipped with modern air conditioning to ensure that a good temperature and air circulation is maintained.

Best wishes,
Nick, Receptio
