We booked in advance a 'standard double' room for 3 nights at a promotional price - I think it was a room-only rate of £79 per night. We weren't expecting anything too special as we had really only booked a budget hotel - but, upon arrival, we were very pleasantly surprised!!

The hotel is on the doorstep of Tower Hill tube station, it has many bars/restaurants within a few seconds walk away from the door (All Bar One, Pizza Express, Pret a Manger). The Tower of London is also about a 2 minute stroll away.

We opted for breakfast in the hotel one morning (quite pricey at £20pp) and the service was excellent, but possibly slightly overpriced compared to the room pricing?

The reception staff were smart and professional and I have nothing but praise for them!

We stayed at this hotel again a few months later - again at a similar promotional price, but on this occasion there were major works taking place on the District and Circle tube lines - Tower Hill only uses these lines and so the station was closed. Towe Gateway for the DLR was open but not very useful for where we wanted to go. We ended up using the bus service, which was difficult to understand if you're not from London, and we wasted quite a bit of time at bus stops - as walking into central London is a bit of a trek from this hotel! My advice is to check the District and Circle lines are operational before you choose this hotel!

We have wanted to stay at this hotel again but are unable to now find it at the promotional cheap price that we had it for previously. I think it's at least £120 per room now, which isn't too badly priced considering the quality of the hotel!

Have stayed twice in the last few weeks and must say this hotel is a great find. We booked B & B promotional rate which was a bargain. A real Kingsize bed with large bathroom and good sized room. The restaurant for breakfast is again excellent.

The staff are friendly and happy to help although they forgot our morning wake up call. We received huge apologise from the duty manager but still made our train from Liverpool Street ok.

Will use again with bargain weekend rates........very good hotel.

We were excited to stay at the Apex on our last night in the UK. We booked in advance online. The hotel's location (near the Tower) was perfect--easy walking distances to great neighborhoods, restaurants and pubs. We were disappointed with the location of our room--first floor at the very end of a lonely corridor. Clearly, not many staff made it to this area of the hotel as a abandoned vacuumn cleaner sat in the hall for the duration of our stay. Our TV wasn't working and when we asked for assistance we were told someone would attend to it. No one ever came. The room itself was spacious, modern and comfortable albeit at the expensive end of the scale. In general, we found the staff to be distracted at best. I would not return.

We just spent 4 nights at this hotel and it was perfect in every way. Our deluxe room was large, clean and comfortable, with a spacious modern bathroom - the shower was awesome! We were on the 6th floor, with a peak of The Tower. It was very quiet and the bed was very, very comfortable. Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was ample with a variety of tasty treats, including fresh fruit & delicious bread. The coffee was terrific! We could order eggs or pancakes, but I found the continental breakfast to be more than enough. Room service was quick and efficient. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. It is very convenient to The Tower and the Tower Bridge and St. Paul's. We never used public transportation so I can't comment on that - we walked everywhere - to the West End, Westminster, Soho, the East End - everywhere! London is a great city for walking. Anyway, I would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to our friends.
