My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Apex at the end of October. We had previously been in the Apex hotel in Edinburgh and loved it so decided to try one of it's London equivalents. The hotel is in an excellent position close to the Tower of London and the Tower Hill tube station. It's little more than a 5 minute walk from the tube to the hotel. The accomodation was excellent, very comfortable room at the front of the hotel. The only drawback was that was extensive building work going on directly across the road in Seething Lane and the noise from the various cranes, pile drivers etc.was distracting. since we weren't in the hotel much during the working day it wasn't a major issue, however if you came back in the afternoon for a rest it certainly would be.
The staff were very friendly and attentive to any queries.
Our only real criticism regarding the hotel was that it seemed to be targetted at the business community rather than tourists. The vast majority of the people in the hotel appeared to be there on business and the bar area lacked any atmosphere whatsoever. somewhat cold and impersonal although we could not complain about the service from the bar staff.More
