Visited London May 3 through 7 and had a wonderful time. Hotel was extremely nice and hotel staff very attentive. Location was perfect. It is well within walking distance to Tower of London. Very near underground station and several very good restaurants in the area. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very friendly staff, excellent location, fast internet, good entertainment service and nice gym. Hotel rooms are quiet and nicely decorated and of the right size. Had an excellent time walking around many downtown attractions.

Room Tip: View rooms seem nicer

We cannot complain about the hotel Itself. The location is central, close to the Tower Hill tube station and the river boats. The hotel decor itself is modern and the rooms are clean (we opted for a family room and had a sofa bed for the children. The room was well sized by London standards and except for a hard toilet flushing button and a little bit of mould in the shower, I would daresay rather agreeable. (Down one notch on cleanliness). There were however two major issues.

1 - One evening we walked into our room and after letting the children loose to play, we noticed several large shards of broken glass. It appears that the hotel decided to replace the sofa bed and when doing so, one of the room's decorations was broken. This would not have been an issue had housekeeping been called to clean up. It however appears that the culprit simply picked up the glass that could be seen, leaving behind large shards that would have ripped open our children's soles had they stepped on them. Upon noticing we immediately called reception who sent housekeeping to clean up. We are very lucky to have avoided a serious accident and although we were offered a complimentary drink and free late check out, I feel that the hotel downplayed the seriousness of their negligence in this issue. (Down another notch on cleanliness and one on service).

2 - Upon full and final payment by credit card, the hotel did not release the pre-authorised funds that it had blocked. Notwithstanding various e-mails over the next 30 days, during which I was given all sorts of excuses and assurances that this had been done, the funds remained blocked until the 30 day period expired. This was uncomfortable and could have caused severe issues had I had other overseas plans as my remaining credit had been blocked off for a full month. Travelers with low credit limits - BEWARE! And try as hard, neither the management not the financial controller who both wrote to me could a) explain what had happened and b) get the funds released (down one more notch on service).

Needless to say, these two incidents left us with a very bad taste of the hotel and the way it does its business and whereas the hotel manager did offer to 'take care' of us the next time we visit, we are not sure whether we will stay there again - which is a pity really. The hotel's staff and management need to learn that simply paying guests lip service when things go wrong is not near good enough.

Best room service I have experienced since a while; especially the breakfast is delicious!

Free wi-fi is another nice aspect.

There is construction going on in front of the hotel so if you want to sleep till after 8 a.m., you might prefer a room facing the back. But to be honest, I did not mind too much.

I have booked a City King Room and my room was a little small at first, but I called the reception and they moved me to a new, bigger room with a King bed immediately.

Apex Hotels in London might as well have the best value for money.

Thanks for everything!

Room Tip: Room 418 was spacious with King Bed and it faces the street. It's not very quiet but comfortable...

Stayed for business this weekend check in is slow but friendly told I had a free upgrade room very nice with sofa and both a shower and walk in shower. Sleep quality is great. Breakfast is something different the staff don't understand what your asking asked for coffee got tea twice and had to ask for the breakfast three times when it came the sausage was not cooked the best bit I had to pay for it before I even had anything to eat. Would I stay there again yes and I would not eat there just a note they charge a service charge on everything for food and drink
