Where do I start?? The parking it stats is on the pavement outside the hotel door which they squeeze 3 cars in and block you in! The state of the reception is shocking! The asian man behind the desk was watching porn constantly and expects you to handover your car keys! Our room was number 11 and we were told we didn't have a key! Then we walked in and our fears were confirmed! Carpets has all sorts of stains on! Curtain that were falling apart and the bathroom we didn't want to even walk in! Didn't shower there as we were to scared of catching malaria! Would literally of preferred to sleep on the street! Can't say I've stayed anywhere that bad! And to be honest how they are still open is beyond me! It really needs the hotel inspector going round and shutting them down! Better than that it needs a health inspector going in and condemning the place! Stay clear unless you want a disease!!!! Enough said now I think!

Absolutely disgusting hotel. The room was tiny with a view of the back of a car garage, soaking wet carpet, tv didn't work, no holder for the shower head, rat poison under the bed, dirty sheets and all night long there was banging so I didn't get a wink of sleep. Never stayed in a worse place.

I understand you pay for what you get however I have paid less for rooms that have been ten times better than what we stayed in here, the service was poor, and the hotel was not clean at all, the room was dirty and cold, ther was no heating and the noise from the road was very loud, the broken tiles on the bathroom floor was dangerous having nearly cut my foot open, ther was no shower head stand so had to have a shower whilst holdings the shower, then having to turn it off during washing to let the water go down the plug as it was blocked, stained bedding too and dirty carpet. It doesn't take much to smile and keep the hotel clean and liveable even for just one night, and we didn't even attempt to have anything to eat due to the state off the hotel so makes you wonder what the food is like. I would not stay here again so stay at your own risk lol good luck

I stayed at the London Shelton Hotel when I attended the Arctic Monkeys concert at Finsbury Park on May 24th 2014.

My booking confirmation said I would have to wait until 11 am before I could check in to my room. I arrived at 3pm and the man at reception told me I would have to come back in a hour. I returned at 17:00 and was then given access to my room. The room wasn't the nicest and the carpet could do with a severe cleaning. The toilet and shower were very shabby and I was put off having a shower. The bed was comfy but I was never confident it was entirely clean. Also I couldn't watch TV because the remote in my room did not work with the television provided. I slept okay but left immediately in the morning and turned down having breakfast because of the overall shabbiness of the room and parts of the hotel (even the sign gave you the impression it wasn't gonna be a nice stay). I will not be staying here again in the future.

I couldn't believe it shown to the room wardrobe with no doors on it bed with a pillow that was the size of a leather belt. Shower was dirty didn't use it was to scared to. Curtains falling apart and a lot of noise of banging. Was meant to have breakfast and chose not to. And as for the car park a pavement. Only good thing was the guy on the night shift was really friendly but never again!!

How this place is still open is beyond me!
First impressions of the "reception" shed was awfull, man sat there playing on the internet with his belly out, unsble to pay by card and quite rude.
The room we was given was as clean as a gutter i dont even think a rat would stay in the room, fag burns on the floor stains on the wall dirty curtains and the BATHROOM!!! Black mouldy shower dirty toilet 3 half usef toilet rolls and a dodgy lock on the room door. We was askef to leave the key while we went out NOT A CHANCE!! On the web page it states "safe iron and tea and coffee facilities" the tea and coffee was 2 dirty cups 2 unwrapped tea bags and 2 milk.
The hotel was so loud it was hard to have a full nights sleep, (constant banging of doors).
I passed on breakfast the next morning after seing how dirty the hotel was but my friend opted for the "continental breakfast" her choice was egg on toast or toast. Only good thing to say about this hotel is the closeness to the station.
NEVER ever will i stay here again i'd rather sleep on the streets.

this hotel is disgusting, burn marks in carpet, wires on show, dirty, smelly, 'bathroom' horrible plug holes just don't look in them and don't dare have a shower, you made need injections after it. had issues with door locking/opening, do not stay here this placed should be shut down, they should pay you £50 for staying here. only good thing about it is train station over the road.

Room Tip: anywhere but here
