We were very lucky to be advised of this hidden gem! Unfortunately it's hard to see from the main street and easy to miss. The people in the pub along with the owner were extremely warm and welcoming. They gave us excellent advice along with many laughs while there. We liked it so much we went twice. Will defiantly return next time in London.

Took only a pint of Guinness, but the atmosphere is perfect: people that live in the area, some talk at the bar and some sport on the TV. Local pub with a history: difficult to find in London!

We moved from another country 5 years ago and this great pub has become our local. We have made so many great friends and have met so many great people from all around the world because of this pub.

The food is great and the Sunday roast can not be beat in this area. If you love sport the Landlords are more then accommodating to help find what you would like to watch.

There should be more pub's like The Bar Locks that make you feel welcome instead of just another customer.

Stopped by to catch some of the Monday night football, to be fair this place looks bad - and it sure is - but we live close and the game had started.

On arrival, we were grumbly told both of us most order a drink to watch. Fine, okay so I went to order some cokes but I was told one had to buy a pint to watch the football there. Ridiculous.

Never go.

Thank you for your review Andrew. We are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your visit and are unhappy we asked that you purchase a pint in order to watch the match. We are a small independent business with high rates to pay in order for our customers to come in and enjoy the sports we have on offer in our premises. Due to this our policy is to only sell pints during football matches in order to subsidise these costs a little. Our regular customers and the majority of our visitors completely understand this and have no problem in doing so. Many people also comment on us being one of the cheapest and most welcoming pubs in the area. However unfortunately, we have many people visit our establishment with no intention of buying a drink, and as you can guess, this doesn’t help us to pay our bills for the sports we offer to show on our screen or to continue to run the business. Never the less, we hope you find somewhere else to enjoy the football where you won’t have to buy a pint, or maybe watch it at home next time?
