“Too many police and officials”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Love trooping the colour seen it many times, but think June 2014 will be the last time I go, too many police who control everything, no stopping to take pictures on the Mall, cannot sit on that wall, (health and safety) they block your view, no where for disabled people to go/sit, taken all the joy and fun out of the day.
We all know the police have an important job to do, and some were friendly but most just snapped at you. Pausing when crossing the Mall, told off for taking a photo!! older people who respect the police don't take kindly to being told off like naughty children by teenagers in uniform.
I arrived before 8am, and did not manage to see the queen, then I was watching the gun salute in Green park and then I missed the fly past!! bad timing I guess.

“100% Best of British!”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

In my 25yrs of life I have always wanted to see this spectacle and finally got down to London to do it. We arrived in London at about 945 thinking we would be too late for a decent spot but the Mall is so vast and the whole street is lined with railings that we managed to get a good vantage spot about halfway up.

The parade kicked off with all the queens horses and men (pardon the pun) making their way down the mall towards horseguards parade. The band blasted the tunes as they came down the road and everyone really enjoyed the atmosphere.

The royal family then streamed down to Horse Guards Parade in amazingly beautiful carriages, pulled by immaculate horses.

After a few hours, the parade then makes its way up to Buckingham Palace where the Mall is then opened to the public, and we can all then march up to the gates of the palace ready for the balcony waving and the RAF fly past.

All in all, it is something crossed off my bucket list and would love to do this again!

Well worth a visit to see this attraction but you must come early to get a good place or you won't see anything

“A supreme spectacle”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 via mobile

I attended the 2014 Trooping the Colour today. I arrived at around 9am and the clouds were just starting to build, but it was easy to find a place just behind the railings. I was at the Buckingham Palace end of the Mall. The event itself was spectacular, the pageantry and precision, amazing. I was there until the flyover at 1pm and surprisingly the time went past reasonably fast. The guards marched first, eventually followed by the queen in a carriage as they headed to Horseguards Parade, there was then a lull until around 12noon, when they returned. The royals came out on the balcony for a while, then went inside coming back about again, just before the flyover. It was a great event and if you are in London on this particular day it is a must.
