Travelodge London City Airport Hotel

Excellent hotel within walking distance of London City Airport which met all our needs. Room & bathroom clean & good size. Great watching planes taking off & landing if you like that kind of thing. Bar area was busy and we had a drink before heading to bed. Not much to do in the local area and not surprising although we did have a walk to look at the Thames Barrier. Pity no Sky but can't complain at the price and saved me having to watch Liverpool possibly hand the League to Man City! Breakfast was good & then had easy trip to the airport via bus stop opposite hotel as only few minutes journey.

The hotel reception was clean and tidy and the staff were welcoming, professional and couldn't do enough to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and hassle free. The room was comfortable and clean, it was a good sized double with a bath/shower. The breakfast was varied and 'all you can eat'. Walking distance for 2 x DLR routes to London and Westfields. Fascinating view of Airport runway. Walking distance to London Excel and Thames Barrier.

Nice welcome , easy check in , was a bit concerned as had asked for a high floor room and got first floor! Room clean and tidy, very basic as expected. Also was concerned about noise but was really quiet all through the night ! So must be brill noise insulation or something or just lucky guests were very considerate?? not sure but not a peep of noise all night. Is a ten minute max walk to DLR so not short, and on our minds was that we were getting back after 11pm and we did not know the neighbourhood. No taxis were there on the Saturday night also?? not sure why as for peace of mind would have got one , loads there on Sunday afternoon, but not Saturday night??? so we walked back with other couples who were staying at trav/lodge and is well lit footpath. Not sure if the trav/lodge do a take to DLR/pick up service ?? might be worth asking? anyway we got back ok. Breakfast in morning was very very busy would suggest getting down as early as possible- nice friendly easy going atmosphere, but very busy- breakfast ok, lots of it- and staff doing their best to keep tidy. Rooms have shower, fixed head, sink toilet, bed very comfortable. TV is good , no hairdryer in rooms, may offer at reception they usually do.

Room Tip: ask about take/pick up service to DLR if not strong walkers, get to breakfast at w/ends as early as...

We stayed here for one night as we had a very early morning flight. The location is very convenient for City Airport and the DLR, which is a ten minute walk away and by far the nearest hotel to the airport. The room and bathroom were clean, spacious and very functional. The price was very good at £39 for a double room with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and digital TV. Overall a decent hotel with a very helpful and friendly receptionist.

Family room booked for a couple of days for sight seeing. Excellent receptionist who took the time to get my drinks and take my food order when the bar staff were dealing with something else. Rooms were very clean and the hotel had a fresh feel about it.

I was greeted by a very helpful member of staff called Farah. I arrived late Thursday night tired and exhausted. And was greeted by a very friendly face. She was very helpful and nothing was to much. I needed to leave early to catch a flight. As I had booked breakfast online she very kindly made me a breakfast box. The room was clean and fresh. Overall a decent hotel with very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of hotel. View better.

We stayed here for two nights (a Thursday & Friday) & had a double room & a family room (we were a party of 5 adults) - we split the cost of the rooms 5 ways & thought that at £42 each for two nights in London we had got quite a bargain. When we arrived, the receptionist was super friendly & helpful (thank you Seanna) & gave us directions to the nearest place to get something to eat as we were too early to check in. The rooms were bright & spotlessly clean, we were offered extra tea & coffee if we needed it, as well as extra towels - the beds were very comfortable, the hotel bar serves until 2.00am & they offer breakfast & evening meals. We chose this location as we had tickets for a concert at the O2 arena & it was perfect, we were in the hotel bar around 20 minutes after the concert finished! It's very handy for the DLR (a 5 minute walk to the station), the planes at the airport don't fly after a certain time so there was no noise - the staff here are brilliant, everyone was very friendly & helpful - we would definitely stay here again, especially for anything at the O2!
