“Such unusual contemporary art in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

I fell in love with the Saatchi Gallery many years ago when they were across the Thames in South Bank. He has an amazing collection of contemporary art. The new space in Sloan Square is also housed in a beautiful building. The location, a short walk from the Sloan Square tube stop, is terrific. You can shop or stop for a snack at Pret a Manger on your way to the gallery or eat in one of the restaurants ringing the park/plaza where the museum is.

The structure is a multi story building broken into a bunch of smaller exhibition spaces. The last time we visited, they were having a special exhibition of emerging artists, so I really can't comment on what's on now, but if you are a fan of contemporary art, this museum is sure to please and will definitely get you thinking. It's a personal favorite of mine and I include it in any trip to London.

“Interesting”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

As usual, art of a mixed bag - some really appealing others just weird. I do so wish there were chairs or benches to sit on in this gallery. My bad hip nearly gave up! Beautifully presented gallery with an easy to flow through layout. Best exhibit still the 'oil room' - seen it many times and it is still great!

“A fascinating exhibition but very rude staff”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

I visited the gallery with a friend and while we enjoyed the art I was struck with the repeated rudeness of the staff in the shop. Spanish speaking women on the till conducted a conversation in their own language (the same had happened before)..........I overheard 2 Chinese visitors ask for help with a book they were interested in and the assistant shrugged her shoulders rudely and said she did not know. No effort was made to help the people. My receipt was thrown at me and there was no thank you. The rude woman on the till did not even budge from her seat when serving customers and spoke over them in her own language with her colleague.

“Worth the tube ride!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Provocative and fun, this is a great gallery that showcases semi-established and newbie artists. Don't miss the Oil Room. To keep on balance, I might also visit the Tate Modern to get your fix of some more seasoned works.
