Receptiion clean and efficient. Room was very clean and shiny.
I Was "upgraded" to a double.
Crikey, I fear for those not "upgraded".
London is always tight on space but for the same money a few weeks ago I was in the "Westbury" on Bond Street (Fab), the Cumberland (Very nice indeed) and the Hilton Metropole (good), not to mention the excellent "Hotel du Vin" in Glasgow....
It is a risk using Late Room's secret hotels tab and this is the first not to impress after many others. Having said that, its only yards away from the Tube and the lively Queensway bars and restaurants.
But a double bed squeezed against the window to the extent it was, it I was with another they could not get out of bed without clambering over moi so as to be able to enjoy the smallest bathroom I have seen in a while, undermines value.
Perhaps I have been spoiled of late and shows why the likes of Holiday Inn Express and the like are making such inroads.
Fine for a one night business trip but a bit much for two for a week of tourism, one might go stir crazy.More
