We've had the pleasure staying at Griffin House on two occasions. Our aim was to stay among the natives rather than at some stuffy over rated hotel, and Griffen House proved to be an ideal choice . Admittedly, I am one who is hard to please, but any complaints that I would offer would be too trivial. At this point we've stayed at both apartments that are available. Both are spacious and well accommodating for travelers. All of the required amendities are provided with retail, restaurants, and entertainment within walking distance if desired. The garden apartment is the better of the two, only because of it having its own entrance from outside . The price was right and our reliance on public transporation proved to be no problem. Our hosts bent-over-backwards to ensure that our every housing need was met. Their knowledge of the city's events and attractions proved to be an invaluable help to us on each of our stays. Having stayed at Griffen House we feel we, undoubtedly, experienced the "true" London life-style." Lest I forget, Barney (the dog), also played his proper role as host. He entertained us when desired and knew when to keep his distance when the time was not right.

We had a great time in the upper apartment, enjoyed our hosts and of course the dog Barney. The upper apartment is spacious, well maintained, has firm beds, a living room with tv, dining table, nice sized bathroom, and basically everything you would want/need for a vacation rental. The location is super, a bit off the beaten track of the busy city center, but easy to get to with a few underground stations nearby. Big Ben is only 3 miles away, and if you are a runner you'll find a route along the Thames by all of the big sights a true joy. (10 K will get you to Big Ben and back no problem). There is a wonderful bakery near the apartment, many shops and a small grocery store right across the street. Clapham road is very close for more major grocery shopping, restaurants, etc... We did follow the recommendation of our hosts for an Indian food restaurant on Clapham road which was excellent. The apartments are a social environment with Nick and Ben living between the lower and upper apartments so one needs to be ready to engage, receive tips, pet the dog, perhaps get an egg from the chickens, etc... The garden in back is beautiful and shows the care and maintenance that both Nick and Ben put forth on their establishment. Obviously we had a great time at the apartments in all respects and would return again should we return to London!

Room Tip: Room on the garden side is quieter. Both rooms were dark at night if that's what someone would want. The living room has a bed too.

We're just back from London, where we stayed at Griffin house for the second time.
Cosy, charming, with a stunning garden ( incredible so close to the center of London ).
The flat with 2 bedrooms was great, loads of space ( also incredible in London ), with all comodities. With our 2 kids, it was just great to have our own space, so close to this big city.
Our hosts are just fantastic, allways ready to help. The kids love them so much, and a very special tks to Barney, the best dog they ever met.
Thanks again for everything guys! U're just perfect.

I booked Griffin House for five nights in late September at the start of a three week European trip with a friend based on Trip Advisor. The apartment was easy to find. Being an animal fan, I loved being able to visit with Barney and the cat, missing my own. The garden apartment is very comfortable and will easily accommodate two single persons or two couples. The apartment is generously sized for this type of rental. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. A grocery store across the street provided convenient access to provisions. Two tube stations (and two lines -- Victoria and Northern) and bus access into central London are within a five two ten minute walk. The neighborhood is clearly gentrifying and we found nice restaurants and interesting shops nearby. The apartment opens onto a nicely maintained garden at the rear of the house that was verdant and pleasant even in late September. Good value for the money in London.

Friendly hosts maintain a modern 2-bedroom apartment with access to a beautiful, quiet back garden. Close to tube stations for easy access to all the London sights. Eclectic area with lots of interesting restaurants and pubs nearby. Having a kitchen and a market across the street saved us lots of money! We'll definitely stay here next time we're in London.

Room Tip: The garden apartment was lovely.
