“Romance package worth ever penny”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Stayed for 2 nights on the Romance package . The room was large clean and comfortable. Dinner we had on the first night was perfect and the waiting staff were exceptional . The spa treatment which is included was a nice way to finish our stay and was really needed after running round London the day before. If this deal was available for the same price if I was in London again I would defiantly stay again .

Stayed here to coincide with a visit to Tate Modern and theatre trip to the National Theatre. Found this hotel on the Globe Theatre website and was offered 10 per cent discount for being a Globe member.
A lovely 5 star hotel within 5 minutes walk of St Paul's Cathedral and Bankside. For visits to the Globe theatre, Tate modern, the Southbank and the Old or Young Vic it is a perfect location.
The room was very comfortable with a bed that we sunk into. Breakfast was included and was a buffet.
i will definitely return and next time fully intend to make the most of the spa, which unfortunately I didn't have time for on this visit.

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at the hotel and found it so convenient for the local attractions. Such a shame you weren't able to use the spa on this occasion, but we look forward to welcoming you back.

The hotel's location is great whether it's to the West End, South of London, or to Canary Wbarf where my meetings were within my two days'stay. The room is spacious in London standard with nice bathroom facilities. I have heard about many good comments of the spa and swimming pool but haven't got the time to try out. I would definitely stay here again in my next visit, and recommend to my friends and colleagues.

The Grange at St Pauls is in my opinion falsely rated as a five star hotel. The hotel and rooms are clean and reasonably well maintained but no better than an average Travelodge. The bathroom in our superior room was extremely cramped, with only an over bath shower, the bath mixer control was broken, the iron was filthy (damaging some of our clothes). Given that it was supposed to be a superior room no consideration had been given for our privacy (the rooms all overlooked each other)
The training of the staff left much to be desired, for instance the bar staff had no idea what a champagne flute was when I requested a pair to take to the room, the making of two liqueur coffees left much to be desired, one with Tia Maria which was not mixed with the coffee (all in the bottom of the glass) the other an Irish coffee the sugar was left. in the bottom of the glass.

Overall an enjoyable experience, however I am sure very over priced and would have been available elsewhere for a much reduced cost.

Room Tip: Use a different hotel

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It was faultless - lovely room , with 2 queen size beds, well stocked bathroom, minibar not too expensive and the rooms were well sound proofed. The breakfasts were very good, fresh , well prepared food with attentive, polite staff. The spa/swimming pool was lovely, the changing rooms clean and there were cleansers/moisturisers/hair straighteners etc (much to the delight of my 7 year old)! The location was perfect...st Paul's cathedral literally on the door step - what more could you ask for ? Will definitely use this hotel again :)

I've stayed here quite a few times now as I see it as a reliable option for a night in London. Rooms are modern and clean, location is great and it's got decent facilities too. Don't opt for breakie unless you get a good package deal as there is a cafe rouge next door...also a multitude of other options very close by.

Don't wait until 11am to check out, especially at the weekend, as there will be a long queue. For some reason they don't have in room checkout available which is a bit frustrating but not the end of the world.

Staff are generally good but can be slow at peak times of course. Overall this is a top choice for value and a decent nights sleep.

Only didn't give it 5/5 as a few niggles and doesn't have the wow factor of a truly luxury hotel (but that would cost twice as much!).

Thank you for posting a public response, it is good to receive feedback. It is really helpful if guests complete our in room questionnaires as well to assist us with any little niggles that need sorting out.

Stayed here for a weekend trip to London with my wife. Excellent location, 20 mins walk to tower bridge or the other way 30 mins to Houses of Parliament.
I contacted the hotel to arrange a surprise for my wife's birthday ( flowers and cakes) before we arrived. This was handled excellently and discreetly. Wonderful experience.
