After reading other reviews about this place, we had set our expectations pretty low. To our pleasant surprise, the place was excellent value for money. Though small, the room was equipped with a decent sized bed and had clean bathrooms. The staff were really helpful and the service was very professional. Easy access to bus stops and train stations. The surrounding areas seemed a bit ordinary. Would definitely recommend for short stays.

Tesco is near to the hotel. Good bus link nearest underground station was Elephant and Castle. Room condition was satisfy.Chinese Food served in the hotel was pretty nice. Parking available for hotel guest.
Just a bit quiet in the area during night time.

We stayed here on a Saturday night as we had a party in the area to go to. Booking online was easy. The gent on the desk when we arrived was very polite and answered any questions we had. Our room had a large bathroom, quite possibly for a disabled guest as there were extra hand rails inside so others may be smaller. The bathroom was very clean with fresh towels and soaps etc. The room itself was quite small which got very hot very quickly. There wasn't any air conditioning, just an electric fan which was permanently on. As we were on the ground floor we didn't want the window open. Overall this hotel was great as it was nearby to our party, but you wouldn't want to stay for more than a couple of nights if you want to feel relaxed and 'at home'

Pretty scary and very budget oriented. Chose it on the basis of reviews and score on another travel website - was badly misled - is pretty much a dump in a very shaky area of town.

However, when we complained about the facilities - no A/C, refrigerator in room had rotting food, excessive noise - the man at the check-in desk arranged for us to transfer to their other hotel about a mile to the east...was very accommodating to our needs. The other hotel was just fine.

Room Tip: Don't stay here unless you have no choice.

This hotel is well placed for East End and not too far from the centre. It has good bus link. It is outside of congestions zone. Parking and breakfast are too expensive but lots of restaurants and cafes near by. Immediate neighbourhood is colourful and not one to wander late at night.

Room Tip: Carful of road and construction noise. You can use the carpark at back to unload. Be careful of us...

We booked this hotel and accepted that it was a budget hotel, however we should have smelt a rat when we noticed 50% of payment was taken in advance and any cancellation had to be made forty eight hours before arrival, nearly every other hotel throughout the world we have stayed in can be cancelled up to 4.00 on the date of arrival.

We arrived at the Elephant & Castle underground and became rather uneasy on our walk to the hotel as large groups of youths were standing on corners and we had to make our way through them, outside the hotel entrance door there was a guy smoking what I clearly recognised from the odour as a "joint"!!!

The hotel door is opened by the receptionist pressing a button to allow access which again is very unusual at 12.00 noon, perhaps at midnight may have been understandable.

Behind the reception desk was an array of toiletries including a good range of condoms, something every traveller needs when on holiday!!!!

The room was tiny, in fact our suitcase which is not the largest would hardly fit down the corridor, a tiny window was open, there was no air conditioning just a small electric fan above the bed which also given the weather conditions was totally inadequate. There was hardly room to walk across the foot of the bed to the other side.

After a short discussion we decided not to stay, we accepted that the £198 payment for the two night stay would be forfeit but the whole tone of the premises and the area was worth going elsewhere.

We asked for a taxi and it arrived after 10 minutes, not a black cab as I would of have expected but a normal car, no meter and probably more of a "mate" of the receptionist we believe as we had booked a room at the Cavendish in Piccadilly and he had no idea when he got into the centre and we went around in circles and after almost 45 minutes of going around, stopping to ask me to get the postcode on my phone so he could put it in his satnav and still he did not follow it, we finally gave up and ordered him to pull over and we got out and walked the last half mile with our luggage!!!

Altogether a very bad experience and all we would say to future travellers looking at this hotel, remember the saying, "if it looks too good to be true... then it probably is"... this hotel seems to be in a poor area and is "cheap" for a reason!!

Room Tip: Book elsewhere...

Friendly check in staff, very well situated for a short (10 minute) bus hop into central London. Our room was a little tired but clean with a good TV and tea and coffee facilities.
I would stay here again.
