“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 18 June 2011

Pleasant and courteous service by staff, at reception, room service and restaurant., We liked the spacious room , well furnished and equipped. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of parks (Hyde P. and Regents P.), shopping centres (Oxford Street and vicinity) and other attractions such as restaurants etc. This is what we liked best about the Sumner hotel.

The location couldnt be better, just a short walk to the tube station and Oxford street. Rooms were very nice and clean, breakfast was great, although early in the morning. Everything you would ever want in a hotel is here at the Sumner.

This was the second time I spent at the Sumner. This time with 4 friends. They and I loved it. It´´s clean and has style. The personal is friendly the breakfast is very good. The rooms are spacious. And it´s located very central just around the cormer from Oxford street and Marble Arch Hyde park. I will stay there again.

A lovely welcome from the lady on reception of this small, intimate hotel with a great location just round the corner from Marble Arch station. Our room was spotlessly clean and fairly large with a 6ft bed. The breakfast was delicious with a good selection of continental and traditional cooked English breakfast choices. A bit pricey but would stay there again.

The hotel has some unbeatable advantages. It is in a perfect location just minutes away from Marble Arch tube station, it is immaculately clean, the rooms are quite large for London, the beds are comfortable, the receptionists are friendly and helpful. Having said that, one can't fail to notice that for the proud sum of 198 GBP the hotel could provide some tea making fcilities, breakfast could be less basic and Intenet could work properly.

This review is long overdue (sorry it took so long Sumner staff!). I stayed here back in January and I was VERY happy with my stay. I have to say that EVERY single one of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. For the price, my mother and I were very satisfied on every level. The location was great, the free breakfast and wi-fi was awesome, the rooms were quiet and clean, the decor was simple yet lovely. Having traveled quite a bit throughout Europe, I didn't expect the same luxuries as I get here in the states. Having said that the only thing noticeably different was the smaller room/bath and the awkward stairwell/elevator situation. If I do go back to London I would stay here again. I only wish I could remember the names of the staff so I could give proper credit :) Thanks for a memorable stay Sumner staff!

When the taxi stopped at the hotel's address we just couldn't find the hotel. But for some reason English people insist on making their hotels look like regular appartments. Anyway, after finally realizing we were in the right place we went through a maze of narrow corridors and stairs to get to our room. When we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised to see a spacious room with a nice bathroom. It was hard to imagine from the cramped corridors.

The room was quiet and we were very happy with the standard. Breakfast was okay bot not more.

Some things the hotel seems to be missing is an in-room safe and the wifi does not cover all rooms (but seems to cover some and works in the lobby).

All in all good value for a London hotel.
