If you just need somewhere to crash your head (after beer going out for beers for eg) and are not looking at spending any more time there than necessary then it's fine. You get what you pay for - if you want a 'nice' hotel spend the extra £160!

The ratings I have have to be taken with reference to the contaxt of our visit to London and the other options in the area. Basically, we were visiting for one night which was to involve getting back to the hotel around 3am, having 7 hours kip and leaving immediately. We therefore wanted a cheap place in a central location and were not prepared to pay the big money that most central places were demanding. We therefore took a chance and opted for Queens. The staff were great, very friendly and accomodating. The hotel, and make no mistakes about it, fits the budget category perfectly. The first room we saw was nothing short of dire. I've backpacked in my twenties and am happy to stay almost anywhere, but it was genuinly awful. Having paid a deposit via budget places, we asked Amit (who was very friendly and helpful) if we could see another room (an upgrade to ensuite). This was much better with comfy clean bed, tv, bathroom with (mostly) hot powerful shower and free wifi. Breakfast was fine (eggs, toast and tea) served by a friendly couple of staff. Bayswater tube is 5-mins walk away so access and location are great for central London. It would have been helpful if they had a room to store bags after we had checked out. We were happy with Queen's and it served our needs perfectly by most significantly saving us a lot of £££ which we spent during our weekend break. So, to summarise, if you like your luxuries, I would suggest you stay well away. But if you are budget conscious or generally content to mix it in budget stadnard accomodation, Queens will be fine for you! I hope this provides a balanced view and enables you to make an informed decision.

Room Tip: Definitely get an en-suite....we were in 'house 4' which was smarter than the other areas I saw

This hotel has basic breakfast (fried egg on toast but no cereal), rooms have television, some have showers, no kettle but vending machine in lobby for tea , coffee and soft drinks cans. I suggest you take travel kettle (but only if you stay in a lot), otherwise excellent value in bayswater with bus links to Kensington and tube links to every where.

good reasonable place to stay with friendly staff and the breakfast is great with classic people. All the main attraction on walking distance such as hyde park, kensington palce, queensway, oxford circus, marbal arch. I definitely recommend this place to my friends and yes i will visit london and stay in queens hotel again.

It's cheap, and this is a good point. It's very close to Bayswater (Circle/District Lines) and Queensway (Central Lines) tube stops, and this is another good point.
Rooms are the bad points.
The most with no bathroom, they are rarely cleaned and overall paying their age. Apparently no maintenance is regularly done.
Common toilets and bathrooms are really shocking with no toilet paper.
Please, consider this hotel just in case of emergency.
