I have stayed here quite a few times over the last couple of years and thought it would be worth sharing my opinions! Firstly its in a brilliant location, 2 mins from Bayswater, Queensway tubes and Hyde Park just at the end of the road. Something worth mentioning is unlike all other hotels in the area (there are loads to choose from!) the price is the price regardless of whether its New Years Eve or the quietest day of the year which is a nice touch considering the hugely inflated hotel prices you normally are subject to in London when its busy.

The rooms are pretty tired and yes there are worn carpets, broken fixtures etc but it is what it is and the general attitude of staff is if you don't like it then stay somewhere else (I don't mean that in a bad way) just its not like the hotel is trying to pretend to be anything its not. Its cheap, the rooms are well cleaned, you get a TV and even a remote, WiFi normally works well and its free, you can leave your luggage without being charged, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the shared showers/toilets are clean and well stocked with toilet paper and soap.

The negatives are the carpets throughout are well worn and stained, the floors are a bit creaky, paper thin walls, breakfast isn't brilliant, very strict no guests allowed policy to the point where an alarm sounds if you try and enter through a door which doesn't involve passing right by the reception (understandable for various reasons) but still find it amusing!

Overall I would certainly recommend the Queens Hotel on the basis of price, location, staff, cleanliness, you just need to be prepared to look past the general appearance of the place and remember its Central London and even the nearest Premier Inn will be 3x the price.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 501 or 502 on the lower ground floor.

We stayed for 3 nights and hated every minute. Had a lower room underneath a communal toilet which was used all night. The floor boards creaked everywhere. Our room had an old fridge freezer which was quite smelly and the carpet was covered in stains. It looked like someone had dropped a carton of milk or cream. The breakfast was a joke. No cereal or juice just tea or coffee ,some toast and a selection of eggs either fried scrambled or boiled. The boiled eggs were just served on a flat plate and had been boiled for about ten minutes. The scrambled were awful. I have never seen eggs cooked this way before. It had to be foreign which is the same as all the staff at this hotel. I thought I was getting good value at 80 pounds per night but I so wish I had paid a little extra for a bit more quality. The only thing that this place has going for it is the location. It is really handy for most of the main attractions but there are dozens of better hotels around to choose from so my advice is pay a little extra.

Room Tip: Don't take a lower room.

Internet wasn't so good. No guests allowed but sometimes they let you do. One porter wasn't available at all. The place is good anyway. Bathroom in common for many rooms, also the shower. It's quiet and calm

the hotel was not so bad compared to what we paid in the location of central London. best thing was everyhting was close to our hotel. we didnt have to spend much time traveling in trains or buses. Hyde park was literally round the corner from the hotel.

Room Tip: Book from hotel's website to get cheaper rates, that's what we did
