“Great location and excellent accomodation”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

Spent a lovely few days here, staff really friendly from checking in to breakfast and check out, We stayed in suite on top floor, well laid out, Nespresso machine a nice touch and bed was lovely and comfortable. Fresh towels daily, declined room clean second day no need to change bedsheets etc. Breakfast was fresh and hot, Coffee in flask not a problem(not sure why other guests have moaned it was strong and hot a bottomless cups) Breakfast was tasty, great selection of jams, cereals and pastries as well as fresh juice and nice service. Very well located to Kensington Olympia tube which is 3 mins walk to accommodation. Good location to Kensington High street and some very nice restaurants and close to Hammersmith Apollo (15 mins walk) we stayed 2 nights to see Kate Bush. Overall would recommend, room was better than hotel (Hilton just across road looks tired and drab) as for noise...it's London, it's not that bad and on top floor very little to disturb you...you also get to eat lots of lovely nice things on your trips out as the climb to the top gets your heart beating fast and helps with your daily exercise so deep breaths and enjoy the burn!!

Room Tip: Top floor have large suites with kitchen diner and good sized rooms

The hotel is really nice, beautiful old fashioned place and the price is good deal, so my partner made reservation. However, after we arrived London, we realized that there was no parking lot. We had to seek space for parking our car; we had to park the car on the street near the hotel for short time before we could check in. We asked the hotel/restaurant employee about the parking, and we were told to find somewhere else for overnight parking. They won't give us the parking permit! We parked the car a little far away from the hotel for overnight (6pm - 9am). After 9am, we would have to feed the meter or pay the fines. Don't drive the car; just take cab, bus or train to Kensington (Olympia) station that's about 2 blocks to Hand and Flower Hotel, but if you prefer driving, go to Hilton London Kensington Hotel (may compete with Hand and Flower Hotel) with parking a lot inside.

Very nice hotel for city-trip. Friendly (very friendly) personal, near by over-ground station, good price/service combination.
Some poor points are possible to find as well, BUT for short trip it is very good.

Good selection of beers and quick service even when busy. I sampled the Chiswick ale on offer for £2 a pint and it was tasty. My wife tried the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pub was very busy, but ordering the food was easy and it was served quickly in under 25 mins. Be warned it is a noisy pub, as there is a wood floor and high ceiling, so the general chatter is amplified.

Stayed the night in the top floor room and it was great - comfy bed, kitchenette, and dining area though the bathroom was a little cramped. Noise was not intrusive either from the street or the bar in full swing. Reported an issue with the bathroom and had £20 knocked off the bill - very kind.

Breakfast was delicious - they do a full English or a bigger version. They also do a couple of salmon dishes and eggs Benedict. There is a vegetarian option. Tables provided with pastries, cereals, yoghurt and selection of jams, though this time they had run out of marmalade and strawberry jam!

Definitely will use the pub again on my next trip to London.

Our stay at Hand and Flower was in the middle of the very warm periode this summer. The room was nice and not too warm. The same was the experience in the restaurant. Here we were well received and could check in and leave our luggage before the room was ready.
The service in general was great, but one person was probably having a bad daycause there was no smile to get from her. It became very visible because all her colleagues was the quite opposite in attitude.
The food was good with great taste and flavours, and what you could expect for this kind of kitchen.
Breakfast was simple and typical english, served on old school plates and gave the whole feeling stay a great ambiance and succesfull experience.

Spent a week there in June. Breakfast was great. Staff very nice and helpful. Convenient to both the bus lines and tube. Will stay there again when I return. Only drawback is no elevator, but the exercise doesn't hurt. Not good for handicapped guests.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street noise

My husband and I had looked forward to staying in one of Fullers hotels,we were very disappointed. We arrived to find the hotel reception was in fact the end of the public bar - not very satisfactory when credit cards are being used . Worse was to come, two steep sets of stairs to climb, carrying our luggage. Our room was pleasant, but the traffic noise continued throughout the night making sleep difficult. The bathroom was the smallest we had ever seen, we are not large people, had we been we would have been unable to get in or out of the room! On a positive note, the included continental breakfast was very good indeed. The hotel is very near to Olympia, but certainly not worth £125 per night for what are, in effect, rooms above a pub.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel - not room named Siddons
