I was excited to discover that the Beefeater Distillery was opening it's doors to the public - like the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory of Spirits I was curious to see behind the scenes. The entrance to the experience is very chic and plush - with modern art elements representing views of London. The girl on the counter was extremely friendly and welcoming; I couldn't have asked for anymore plus her explanation of the tour was very informative, the self guided part through the newly constructed museum followed by the staff led tour of the distillery aspect. The museum itself was fun - enough to give you the history and story of gin and Beefeater without being too much of an information overload. I like the combination of themed rooms as well as some interactive displays, display cabinets and atmospheric sounds and smells! Then came the added bonus after viewing the museum - travelling upstairs to see the distillery and have a hands on experience with the botanicals used to create Beefeater's aromatic blend. We also learnt about the distillery process used to craft the gin which was interesting - the last bit of the experience was having a refreshing G&T made for us in the sleek modern styled bar. Fantastic! Then the icing on the cake was being able to buy from a range of all their gins as well as some fetching Beefeater glasses - I ended up with a bottle of their Beefeater 24 (which I have yet to try) and their new special edition "London Garden" which is all a bit too drinkable! This is a great way to spend an afternoon I highly recommend it!
