“Just wonderful and loved the location”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Just spent 4 days at Ham Yard with my family...excellent in every way. Wonderful staff, bedrooms are large with even larger bathrooms. Very comfortable bed. Gym was superb and we got to watch Wimbledon on the huge screen in the Cinema. Ate one dinner in the bar and tried almost every dish as they were all small plates. Excellent although also ordered off the main menu and loved their gnocchi. We were worried about the location being right off of Piccadilly Circus but even though it is one block away you would never know it unless you wanted to use the tube as the property is built onto itself and it was quite quiet and peaceful in its square. The location was particularly great for shopping, good pubs and restaurants but our favorite was a small ramen shop just next door which was the best we have had anywhere but Japan. Definitely would go back but would like to try Firmdale's other London hotels.

This past Saturday afternoon I reserved a spot for about 15 of us, and without a doubt, everyone enjoyed it. Lots of great seating areas with couches, natural light coming in from numerous high skylights, great decor. And great service, especially from Lizzie, who looked after us for about 5 hours (and an overall total of about 25 people eventually I think).

This is my new go-to place. It's by the same folks who do Charlotte St Hotel and Soho Hotel and the Refuel Bar, but this is by far the largest bar space. And they have an outdoor courtyard where you can sit too. Absolutely brilliant time, thank you Ham Yard.

We spent a night here in a beautiful suite (room 212) which is just perfect for a family of four given it has a separate room with closing doors. The children went down at 8:30pm and we were able to enjoy an evening in our room without disturbing them.
The food is great and the service is absolutely terrific (ignore the review further down this page - you will not experience better service in London).
Great gym, stunning cinema/bowling alley and some charming quiet areas.
Simply brilliant, well done Ham Yard Hotel.

How anybody can rate this hotel as "terrible" is beyond me. Perhaps there were some teething problems when it first opened but I have just spent the last weekend there and can honestly say, it was such a great hotel. Yes, it is typically "Firmdale" (albeit more spacious and lighter) with bold colours and exquisite furnishings. The service was fantastic - nothing corporate - personal, genuine and not without personality. We felt thoroughly looked after and spoilt. Will definitely be back.

Its hard to believe that this hotel had only been open 3 weeks when we stayed there as everything worked so well, the staff were (by and large) excellent and the food was of the best quality.

We liked the Firmdale signatures about the place, the quirky art, the quiet library areas, the busy bar and, above all, the quality of the bedrooms. Design features are carried over from their Soho Hotel like the windows, doors, bathroom fittings, etc.

It is to be hoped that Firmdale stay with their pricing policy on food, scones at £4 for 3 with clotted cream and jams is brilliant value. Restaurant food is reasonably priced, for London, but booze looks dear, probably deliberately to keep the pub drinkers out.

Location is v convenient, but it is Soho proper, the Windmill is at the end of the yard, and so don't expect peace and quiet until late into the evening, but that is also the fun of the place

Definitely go back.

Step off London's busy West End streets into the cool, calm courtyard of the city's stylish new hotel. Plenty of space to have dinner or drinks outside, a beautifully decorated reception area and lobby and an impressive, bar, restaurant, lounge and conservatory. I was only here for food (delicious bar menu) and drinks but if I'd arrived for a stay in the capital, I would absolutely not be disappointed. In fact, I may look into staying over next time even though I only live down the road! The staff get an extra special mention as they're the nicest I've experienced anywhere - genuinely warm, friendly, caring and helpful and Adam was particularly fabulous and funny. The hotel should be proud to have such great people representing them.

Attended here as part of a corporate event.
Used the hotel facilities excluding bedrooms.
The hotel is simply a WoW. Ok, its new and you can see that, everything is pristine. The staff who we all dealt with were superb and extremely attentive and polite and not pretentious as you find in a lot of establishments. Cinema and bowling alley helped compliment our/or your visit.
The decor is amazing in a trendy and unusual way, from a typewriter encased in acrylic to retro posters, tennis ball spiral and wooden crocodiles (to name just a few). Air conditioning throughout.
Nice quiteish court yard to the front to enjoy drinks.
A nice unusual gem well worth a visit.
