“Fascinating eclectic displays and a lovely cafe”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

I love the Wellcome collection - the permanent collection is interesting and thoughtfully displayed while the temporary exhibitions are varied and always appealing. I like the crossover between art and medicine. Entry to the library and the exhibitions are free as is the WiFi. The cafe is nice although a little pricey and seats can be difficult to find at lunchtime. The book shop has a great selection and the staff are happy to let you browse. Provision for children is good with highchairs, changing facilities and many child friendly exhibits. Be aware that the exhibitions are closed on Mondays and that entry during remainder of the week maybe limited at present as the Wellcome collection is expanding its display space.

“Not that well known, actually has some interesting exhibitions”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

Opposite Euston Station, I don't think the Wellcome Collection is that well known, which is a shame. I went for Souzou: Outsider Art from Japan. It was an interesting premise, as the artists are untrained and said to be on the fringes of society, receiving various social care and the like. The exhibitions don't seem to change that regularly, but they are free, which is always good, and they do have some unusual things - I remember going to an exhibition on dirt, for instance. Definitely worth a look.

“Excellent museum”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

This museum is quite unknown, but it's actually excellent. It has an amazing eclectic collection which would be interesting for anyone, and there are always interesting collections that are free.

Definitely worth checking out and giving it a quick visit. It's also quite close to Tottenham Court Road, so should be easy to slot in when visiting London for a few days.

“For the experienced London visitor”
Reviewed 4 July 2013

This is a very fine museum with an art section that adds a wonderful bonus. Not on the top of the list if you have not seen some other London attractions of note. but well worth the visit.
