“Brilliant!”
Reviewed 6 February 2011

Booked this hotel last minute, and was thoroughly impressed! It is very modern in design, beautifully clean and comfortable and most of all in the perfect location! Right next to the London Eye/West Minster Bridge, it is a PERFECT base for sight seeing around the city. The room was very comfortable and has everything you could need including free internet and a microwave. Bathroom wasn't huge, but was well appointed and had a wonderful rainfall shower. Bed was one of the comfiest i've slept in. All in all, we were very happy with this hotel and wouldn't think twice about coming again. STAYING HERE IS A MUST!

Booked for Daughters 21st Birthday & to see a show on the Strand. Had only booked a double room plus package but on arrival were told we had been upgraded to a penthouse!!! I thought i had heard wrong, the front of house manager personally escorted us to our Penthouse and wished my daughter a Happy 21st. Within minutes a bottle of champagne arrived. The room was amazing and when you think should have cost £400. We had access to the executive lounge for breakfast and free use in day. Breakfast was nice but not very hot. Free wine, cocktails etc were available between 5-7 but we could not take advantage due to restaurant booking and show time. The views were amazing from the penthouse but it was very windy. The walk into the Strand area was pleasant and lots to look at. We did you use the steam room and sauna, very nice. Good facilities. The only issue with the room was with the air conditioning, you couldnt turn this off and it was quite ennoying at night. I would definitely go to this hotel again. I would like to thank Park Plaza County Hall for making my Daughters weekend an experience not to be forgot.

myself and my parner stayed here for a long weekend. We really liked it and would definitly stay again. We were upgraded to a suite which has a nice cough and extra tv....the free internet was great.
The microwave and sink etc were excellent to have. The only real issue was the bathroom....more specifically the sliding door! it was so noisy especially in the middle of the night. Woke up my partner a few times over the weekend which meant we both didnt sleep as good as we should have. However the rain shower was fab.....i love them :)
Overall i would recommend :)

Good location, close to Westminster/London eye and the subway, although the hotel has no real frills but I would go back again, as it was a decent hotel.

My family (including an 18month toddler) stayed here for 7 nights over New Years. The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from Waterloo Station. When we checked in, we were pretty sure we got the last room in the hotel in the worst possible location – 131: 1st floor by the lifts overlooking the restaurant, beside the conference centre. This had to be the loudest room in the complex so we thought. We asked for a new room but the hotel was full that night. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised that the room was quite quiet. The conference centre was not used at night and we could not hear the bustle from the restaurant. As a bonus – the room is very isolated from the rest of the rooms on the floor. It was perfect for a toddler who woke up in the middle of the night – we didn’t have to worry about disturbing anyone.

The selling feature of this hotel is the separate living quarters and is the reason we chose it. Absolutely perfect for families and with the mini kitchenette complete with dishes and silverware, small fridge and microwave. It was the perfect way to save money on meals. The crib provided was a portable playpen which our daughter did not like. However, the living room couch converted into a low futon bed which was perfect for her. I’ve never liked the “hardness” of mattresses in European hotels but it was comfortable enough. Lots of storage space. Very spacious bathroom.

The location was fantastic – 5 minutes to the Eye or Waterloo Station, and an easy walk across Westminster Bridge to the attractions on the other side of the river. There are 4 small grocery stores in the vicinity, and lots of excellent take-away restaurants nearby. There are also many family-friendly restaurants in the Royal Festival Hall area, again 5-10 minutes away. As a result, we never ate at the hotel restaurant as there were so many cheaper options available.

We thought the strength of the hotel (other than the rooms) were the concierges. They were always friendly to chat with and most helpful. We used them for restaurant recommendations and booking cars and they came through everytime.

The only negative of our stay was that the hotel lost all internet to the rooms for 4 days. The only available spot were two workstations in the basement which constantly had a lineup. I can understand it being down for one day but 4? Granted it was over holidays but still disappointing, especially since we had counted on doing webcam sessions with grandparents back home and booking attractions online. However in the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t the end of the world. The hotel apologized enough times (I even received an email from the GM which was impressive)

Other hotel perks - free laundry, which I didn't think existed. The fitness centre was also very well equipped with modern equipment.

In all, an excellent hotel and we would not hesitate staying here again.

Hotel is great. We stayed for a special birthday and were welcomed with a bottle of wine in our room which was a nice touch. It is so close to Waterloo for travel and South Bank for culture and easy walk/bus into covent garden, westminster etc for sightseeing and dinner. The hotel staff are really helpful and polite. We had use of executive lounge for drinks/breakfast - really recommended - nice extra touch. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean, but small (and we upgraded to a room with river view so dare to guess how large the normal rooms are!) and the beds are a little hard (although the staff inform me they are in process of rectifying this). I would totally recommend this hotel and couldn't fault it. The Park Plaza Westminster is right next door and that is the one with the very nice all night bar!
