I cannot believe that anyone would complain about LSE Northumberland House. I was there for four nights last week, and found it to be safe, secure and scrupulously clean, in a fantastic location. I have stayed in one of the luxury hotels located on Northumberland Avenue, and was very pleased to find LSE Northumberland House at a fraction of what I paid across the street!

Yes, the bed was lumpy and the pillow was old and tired - - but then again, so am I! - - and if you're tired enough, you can fall asleep and sleep very peacefully. My room was quiet; I never heard a sound from anyone above me, below me or alongside of me. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic, and the bathroom was more than adequate. I'm a very big man, and did not feel uncomfortable at all in the small cube - type bathroom pod.

The front desk staff were courteous and helpful - - as were all other staff members I encountered during my stay. I would very gladly book LSE Northumberland House again!!!

We stayed at LSE Northumberland House from 23-27.9 and were as a young couple very pleased with the room and service. Our room was in the 8th floor with a big bathroom! Everything was very clean, only the carpet on the floor was a little bit stinky but it didn't bother us since we kept the window open almost all the time. Within walking distance were all the nicest sights. Supermarkets very near. Staff very nice and helpful, we could also use wifi in our room. Would definitely recommend this for short city holidays.

It is located between two beautiful hotels and right next to Trafalgar square and Charring Cross station. Plenty of places to eat - starting from very expensive to reasonable. Grocery store and pharmacy very close. The rooms though small have all the necessities and the kitchen could be used for making tea etc. or heating up food. Did not look like anyone did any cooking but did see people use it to eat sandwiches etc. Very clean, they change your towels every day and very safe. Staff is very friendly and will help you figure out things. Free WiFi and TV room is comfortable if you want to rest.
Bathroom is like a cruise ship bathroom (Vey small),hot water and pressure very good. Mattress little lumpy but for the price and location it can't be beat.

Room Tip: The corner rooms looked a little bigger. If you want to eat in then good idea to bring instant pouch...

Very simple rooms, really small but adequate bathrooms, clean and nice staff. Comfortable beds. Really everything you need if you plan to spend time in the city and not in the hotel. There is not one thing luxurious about this place, but the location is great, the price is fantastic for London.

Room Tip: It's a city, so there is a bit of noise. Didn't bother me, but you might want to ask for a...

Only booked an overnight stay as our group were attending a function in London. (Based on their web site) This was the worst accommodation that I have ever stayed in. The room stank, the bedding had not been changed and if it was not so late we would have either booked into another hotel or caught a late night train home. You would not want to use the shared kitchen. This is simply student accommodation at its worst and if this what you are happy to accept then fine. Basic I can live with but dirty is another story. A mistake not to be repeated.

Room Tip: My other 2 members of the group also had dirty rooms so take note.

An absolutely fantastic location - just off Trafalgar Square - at a great price. Depending on what you're looking for, this could be ideal or awful. As a bed base, great, but I imagine you really won't want to spend more time here than you have to. My room was huge but shower room was a plasctic cublcle affair and after you've showered, it's humid forever. The cubicle thing was also minute - no space. Plenty of clean white towels provided, plus toiletries and sheets clean, if unironed. Mattress was offputting, but bed was comfortable. NO TV IN ROOM which I found odd. Furniture comprised lots of wardrobes and a couple of desks which were all cheap formica and it was dusty. Floor was quite dirty - don't go barefoot. No food served but there was a kitchen on each floor where you could cook. Iron also available in kitchen. But why would you cook when you're smack in the middle of the hub of Trafalgar Sq and any number of eating places. Windows were old sash type, didn't close completely and it was noisy - well what do you expect I guess. And I didn't mind that much when I was being woken up by Big Ben, after all! So overall tired and basic, but functional. I wouldn't choose to stay there again personally, epecially since I've spotted the lovely hotel next door. I'm planning on staying there next time!

Our room on the 8th floor was quiet; only heard Big Ben; no traffic noise. The location is the best! Just a short walk to major attractions! Close to two underground stops - Charing Cross and the Embankment. The dorm furniture appeared clean and new; no nicks and scratches. Beds have thin mattresses with springs so a bit lumpy but slept well. The bathroom is small but everything works! The lift appears quite new and minimum wait. Beautiful laundry facilities in the basement. The hall appeared to be freshly painted and quiet. The kitchen looked fresh and new. Two large refigerators and one freezer. The pots and pans and utensils looked new. The only downside is there were stains on our carpet. Towels were changed daily. WiFi was never a problem. Desk people helpful and pleasant. Would definitely stay there again.
