“Very comfortable and nice hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

My husband and I stayed at The Grand at Trafalgar Square for 4 nights and we very much enjoyed our stay. This is like a boutique hotel in historic neighborhood. Most buildings in London are old with small rooms. But our room was large, very clean and very comfortable. The bedding was comfortable too. Bathroom was small but it was designed beautifully considering the smallness. The hotel is very well located for touring the city. We practically walked to Buckingham Palace, Eye of London, Big Ben and many other historic sites, buildings, shopping centers, and restaurants. Besides being centrally located, it was surprisingly very quiet, too! We had dinner at the hotel once and it was better than other restaurants we went to on the other nights. For breakfast we went to different coffee shops that were close to the hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The restaurant and bar at the hotel was actually better than other restaurants outside. Their prices...

Stayed here last night for our wedding anniversary excellent location and on first appearance hotel looked perfect. Once checked in room was very small and was put next to noisy lift. It was disappointing at 10:30pm to not be able to get a drink in the hotel bar and when using the toilets in the basement they were very unclean and not pleasant. If you want good location then stay here but others around looked much nicer for sand price and bar stayed open.

I took my wife away for the weekend, and stayed at The Grand it was very nice, the staff were very helpful, they couldn't do enough for everyone, the room was very nice. It was clean well stocked, tea and coffee which I always prefer.
They put a basket and a bottle of wine in the room for my wife as it was her birthday, we had the breakfast at Boyds and we enjoyed it very much. Other hotel is not far from the square or the embankment you can walk to both, also the London eye and other experiences are within walking distance.

Beautiful building from the outside and nicely laid out inside.
Room was small but functional, nicely decorated and clean and we slept really well.
Location was amazing - 20 seconds to Trafalgar Square, couple of minutes from Embankment, couple of minutes to two tube stations and surrounded by shops and restuarants. West End is also a 5-10 minute walk away so close to all the Theatres.
Only negative was check-in which was automated and just seemed a little impersonal, but it worked ok.
Our stay did not include breakfast so cant comment on food/drink.
Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for one night on our way back to the states. The lobby was beautiful and our room size was fine for 2 adutls/ 2 children in a Jr suite. Cleaning was ok but a large long hair was left in the bathtub. Our room faced the street and traffic was very loud. A bonus was the free cold water and ice machine on 2nd floor. When we checked out early in the morning the man at the front desk was not particularly helpful or pleasant. I asked him about the best place to get a cab and he repeatedly told me I should have ordered one the night before. He was very annoying and condescending. However, I did get the room at a decent price so all in all I think it was an ok place to stay.

Room Tip: Free ice and water on 2nd floor by the computer room

I originally chose this hotel because of the close proximity to Trafalgar Square, which is centrally located in London. On arriving I was very impressed with the customer service and quality of the room. Our room was small but it was clean and very comfortable. It stays bright late in London, 11ish, so the blackout curtains were wonderful. The hallways have purified water dispensers with bottles for free. Another great aspect was the complimentary washing machines and dryers. It was great to be able to clean our clothes every couple days. The service was great too. My husband needed a 3 prong plug converter for his laptop and a very nice gentleman named Luis quickly arrived at our room with a couple of options. Luis is awesome, my husband was still able to work because of his assistance. We will definitely be returning to this hotel on our next trip to London.

Short but sweet stay for me on pleasure husband on business such a perfect location 2 min walk from Covent Garden right next to Trafalgar Square. Very comfortable bed smallish rooms but this is London ! Really "grand" in style nice bar and restaurant. Excellent front of house it wasn't obvious it was a reception like a private members club, very personable would definitely recommend.
