Description: Auberge Waterloo is ideally located opposite Waterloo StationIf it’s a traditional French gastro you’re looking for, Auberge Waterloo is the one. Directly opposite Waterloo tube station, this rustic venue promises to charm your guests from the moment they enter. Serving top quality, freshly prepared, French inspired food from midday until late seven days a week, Auberge Waterloo is conveniently located within a short walk of the South Bank and it's attractions including the London Eye, and Royal Festival Hall. I couldn't find Auberge at St Christophers Place on Trip Adviser, but this is probably another branch of the same chain? It's just set back from Oxford Street near Duke Street. Very convenient for our London trip to see We Will Rock You at a theatre near Oxford Circus. My husband and I had a voucher for 2 for 1 dining via Days Out Guide website, so thought we would give this a go. The restaurant was lovely, clean, tidy, modern with nice background music, The kitchen is behind a glass counter so the cooking can be watched (and the smells torment the tummy!) The staff were friendly, polite and attententive without being intrusive. Our meal was delicious. We had prawns for starter, along with french bread and olives. For main I had the Salmon and my hubby had the lamb shank (the meat just fell off the bone) We had creme brulee for dessert. I've not got a huge appetite and I ate every single bit of my meal. I would definately eat here again with or without a discount voucher! Try it too? you won't be disappointed. Check their website. I 'googled' them before we set off for directions. Found the site very good too.

There were 4 of us eating that evening.
The patio area was busy, but we managed to get a patio table for 4 after 15 mins.

We shared a bottle of Chardonnay and it was well priced and tastes the way it should.

We each had a dish -

The Lamb Rump: It was seasoned well, juicy and cooked to our liking, medium rare. The sauce was good... and the French loves their sauce! Two thumbs up.

Salmon salad: It was decent. Salmon piece was a fair size and lots of salad. I didn't particularily like the taste of the salmon because it was cold and made fairly simple. I like my salmon hot and with seasoning.

Sirloin steak: A good piece of meat. Probably not the best steak I've ever had (that would be Ruth's Chris), but still really good and tender. And again, sauced up pretty good.

Smoked Salmon: As an appetizer, it tastes like how it should =)

All together, with still water and coke and wine, the price was 81 pounds. Well priced!
